Fab Flash: Chris Gilbert Gives You a Resin to Buy Denim

With prices shooting upwards of $200 for designer jeans, it's safe to say the denim market doesn't have sympathy for the struggling economy.

With prices shooting upwards of $200 for designer jeans, it's safe to say the denim market doesn't have sympathy for the struggling economy. That is, until we found out about Paper Denim & Cloth co-founder Chris Gilbert's new denim line, named Resin. “My biggest goal is for someone to pick out a pair, try them on, and be shocked when they see the price,” said Gilbert.

Resin hits the lower designer price point range of $128 to $158 for a pair. The gritty, New York-inspired collection focuses on straight- and skinny-leg cuts offered in a range of vintage washes. “We approached it from a modern view, keeping in mind that our jeans are created to feel like they’ve been worn before the first wear,” said co-designer Durango Adams. Perfect for the slick, city girl. Interested? The collection makes its debut this Fall at select boutiques across major cities.

Celebrity Style: Vanessa Hudgens

A little rain didn't stop Vanessa Hudgens and beau Zac Efron from having lunch at Aroma Cafe in Studio City over the weekend.

A little rain didn't stop Vanessa Hudgens and beau Zac Efron from having lunch at Aroma Cafe in Studio City over the weekend. And a little wetness didn't keep Vanessa from dressing stylishly. I know she looks a bit old for her age here, but I still approve because she looks comfy and sophisticated. I dig the way she tied her silk scarf around her neck, her cool boots, and of course her Balenciaga bag. Hey, at least she didn't try dressing too young for her age like so many Hollywoodians.

Celebrity Style: Drew Barrymore

After looking at all those fancy schmancy New York Fashion Week outfits, I yearn for something a bit more casual, like Drew Barrymore's look at LAX.

After looking at all those fancy schmancy New York Fashion Week outfits, I yearn for something a bit more casual, like Drew Barrymore's look at LAX. I am envious of Drew's natural ability to throw on many accessories yet still look so simple and cool. I love those Gucci gladiator sandals and the long grey scarf. Way to travel in comfort and style.

Trend Alert: Itty-Bitty Jean Shorts

We have been trying to convince you that shorts are an of-the-now option to expose your stems this season.

We have been trying to convince you that shorts are an of-the-now option to expose your stems this season. The itty-bitty jean short is actually quite a classic - if you consider the siren who brought the item to fame: Daisy Duke. Now, I would call these Daisy Dukes but these itty-bitties are not necessarily butt cheek flaunters. Young Hollywood has chosen to wear these with tunics or long tees that just graze the hem of the short creating the illusion of wearing a very short dress - but then you have the safety of coverage underneath, albeit itty bitty. Lindsay, Nicole, Mischa, and myself are all fans - are you?
