Penelope and Monica Cruz Mango Clothing Line

Penelope Cruz and Scarlett Johansson have a lot in common. Besides starring in one of my favorite recent movies, Vicky Christina Barcelona, the two Hollywood beauties also share a love for Mango. The Spanish retailer just announced Scarlett Johansson will be succeeding our beloved Penelope as Mango's new face. The brand describes Scarlett as the ideal Mango woman: "chic, independent, and cosmopolitan," also stating, "Johansson exudes a confident demeanor while remaining youthful and playful." Tear, we'll miss you Penelope. Johansson will make her first Mango debut in the Fall '09 campaign shot by Mario Sorrenti.

You knew this was coming: Warmer weather calls for white! Also, a crisp white item of clothing works wonders for a hangover — oops, did I just say that? But seriously, whether it's to refresh your day, show off your tan or for the hell of it, white definitely has its place in fashion. Upon revitalizing my closet, I realized I have tons of white blouses — and I wear them all. White dresses, on the other hand, not so many. Penelope is leading the white out in her MNG Mango dress, will you follow?

Celebrities have become a designing powerhouse in their own right, and in 2007, more Fab faces joined the fray. Mary-Kate and Ashley added cool contemporary line Elizabeth and James; SJP launched the budget-friendly Bitten at Steve & Barry's; Gwen's little L.A.M.B. made a runway comeback; Lauren Conrad reached her dream of becoming a designer; and both Sienna Miller and Penelope Cruz teamed with their sisters to cull up some seriously sizzlin' clothes. Admittedly: some of them were hits and some were misses. You all know how much I look to Celebrity Style for inspiration, so here's to hoping 2008 brings just as many fun collaborations!

No way! Is this every pair of sisters' dream or what? I've just heard that Penélope Cruz and her younger sis Monica are set to design a 25 item clothing collection for the Spanish chain Mango. The line will include accessories and also feature an ad campaign in which Pen and Mon will star.

This is not the sisters' first attempt at design. In the past, they have also created jewelry and handbags for the Japanese company, Samantha Thavasa. However, this is their first stab at clothing.

Mango approached the Cruz sisters in their attempt to expand their presence in the U.S. The plan is to roll out 250 new stores over the next ten years.
