Last night's People's Choice Awards marked the beginning of award season, and we were more than a little excited to pore over all of the gorgeous red-carpet looks. We were treated to a few minidress moments, sexy gowns, and lots of bold color, but there were five looks in particular that caught our discerning eye. Favorite comedic movie actress winner Jennifer Aniston wooed us in a black fit-and-flare leather dress by Christian Dior, Naomi Watts dazzled in a stunning black and gold gown by Alexander McQueen, and Taylor Swift switched up her style game in a plunging V-neck white gown by Ralph Lauren finished off with blue statement danglers. Chloë Moretz showed off her spunk in a neon yellow dress — covered with sweet, semisheer daisies — by Simone Rocha, while Ellen Pompeo opted for a cream-colored draped Lanvin maxi dress finished off with a bold belt. Five lovely ladies in five equally beautiful red-carpet ensembles — which one gets your best-dressed vote?

People's Choice Awards: Jennifer Lawrence
Jennifer Lawrence (spoiler alert: she wins!) may have skipped the red carpet, but she did not skimp on the glamour. Spotted backstage, the Silver Linings Playbook and Hunger Games actress chose an ultrasparkly Valentino Couture dress for the awards-show occasion. The sheer-boatneck number also featured long, loose sleeves and an asymmetrical tulip skirt hem, neither of which took attention away from her gorgeous stems. To finish, Jennifer wore dark drop earrings, a bold statement ring, and a pair of jewel-soled black pumps that we wouldn't mind getting our hands on. As per usual, this starlet knows how to dress her svelte figure impeccably. Do you agree?

People's Choice Awards: Sandra Bullock
We're loving that the start of award season has Sandra Bullock back in the spotlight. While she didn't do the red carpet, she did glam up to accept her award — she's the first recipient of the People's Choice favorite humanitarian honors — opting for a slim-fit pinstriped pencil skirt and blue lace strapless top by Vera Wang. She offset the sophisticated feel with a flash of fuchsia on her pointed-toe pumps, then echoed the hue with a pop of pink on her lips. As for the rest, she didn't overdo the jewels, choosing just a bracelet and finishing with an oversize clutch in tow. What do you think of Sandra's return to the award show circuit?

People's Choice Awards: Naomi Watts
Naomi Watts hit a golden note in an Alexander McQueen Resort '13 gown that was nothing short of bombshell-worthy. The gilded halter top and black, body-consious, floor-skimming skirt referenced a more nostalgic Old Hollywood silhouette. But, let's be clear, that jaw-dropping backless detail provided a more modern-day appeal. The Impossible actress complemented her stunning dress with a black and gold studded clutch and a multicolored-gem-encrusted collar at the neckline — a double dose of accessorized glamour. Her side-swept hair and barely there makeup rounded out her ensemble with a natural glow. Are you feeling Naomi's Alexander McQueen choice?

People's Choice Awards: Brittany Snow
If there is a way to be understated while still being seriously sexy, Brittany Snow has figured out how to do it. The actress stepped onto the red carpet tonight looking like a Grecian goddess in her buttery yellow Maria Lucia Hohan draped gown. Not afraid to show a little skin, her ankle-length skirt gave way to a plunging neckline. Her soft blond curls and demure hue tempered the sexy silhouette, while a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti silver pumps and a Judith Leiber crystal clutch added a bold touch. What do you think of Brittany's sexy Grecian look?

People's Choice Awards: Jennifer Aniston
She didn't walk the red carpet, but we did just get a glimpse of Jennifer Aniston — who just took home the award for favorite comedic actress — backstage in a black leather fit-and-flare dress by Christian Dior. Equal parts edgy and sweet, the look was pretty much right on par with Aniston's usual red-carpet ensembles, as were her natural locks and glowing complexion. To finish, she kept it sleek and understated with a pair of Tom Ford ankle-strap heels and just a hint of sparkle via her Fred Leighton earrings. So, tell us, are you a fan of Jennifer's leather look, or do you wish she had switched it up?

People's Choice Awards: Ellen Pompeo
If we could take one dress off the red carpet and make it our own (for almost any and all occasions), Ellen Pompeo's relaxed, cream-colored Lanvin maxi dress would be a front-runner. The Grey's Anatomy leading lady — and favorite dramatic TV actress nominee — chose a deep-V, cuffed-sleeve, pleated skirt dress for her awards-show appearance. The excellence of this look could be pinpointed right down to every accessorized detail, namely, her wide black waist belt, long gold Sydney Evan chain necklace, gold box clutch, and edgy gold Sydney Evan rectangle bracelet. Aside from the eye-catching accents, she kept her hair low-key (read: superstraight), her makeup minimal, and her shoes well hidden. Although, we did manage to catch a glimpse, and it looks as if Ellen went with a classic black Christian Louboutin heel. Are you on board with her look?

People's Choice Awards: Heidi Klum
When it comes to high-impact red-carpet wear, we can trust Heidi Klum to bring out the big guns. For tonight's red carpet, the Project Runway host selected a black cutout Julien Macdonald gown with sequin trim and a stem-baring thigh-high slit. She tempered the va-va-voom dress with an understated updo, then gave her sexy gown a sophisticated twist with crisscross pointed-toe pumps. As for the jewels, it was just a pair of black jewel drop earrings — all the better to let her skin-baring gown take center stage. So, what's the verdict — was Heidi in or out?

People's Choice Awards: Chloë Moretz
Chloë Moretz lit up the red carpet tonight at the People's Choice Awards in a Simone Rocha Spring 2013 dress showing off a neon yellow hue and whimsical semisheer daisies. Its classic shape and slightly flared skirt kept her looking youthful and party-ready while also letting that super-vibrant, personality-packed shade of yellow shine. Her black pumps and matching box clutch provided the perfect quiet complement to her look, which she then finished off with soft curls and a pink lip. Do you think Chloë shined on the carpet tonight?

People's Choice Awards: Rumer Willis
There was no shortage of sparkles or stripes on Rumer Willis's shining Alice and Olivia floor-length gown. Her curve-hugging column dress with a cap sleeve showed off her figure to a T, while alternating diagonal stripes of black and silver sequins kept her shimmery with each step she took. A messy updo with one long stray curl provided an edgy complement to her glamorous gown, while strong jewelry (get a load of those teardrop blue earrings!) and a silvery box clutch made sure her look was never short on shine. Do you think Rumer rocked her red-carpet look?
