Could the news of their Target collaboration have overshadowed Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos's Spring 2014 collection? Not likely. The designing duo trotted out a bevy of newsworthy dresses in London on Monday, starting with pieces that blended fabrics in sky blue, mint, and bright green with lace and tweed. Floral and graphic prints also figured in this irrepressibly bright collection, mixed to perfection with one another. Certainly everyone is excited to see what these two do for Target, but what's even more exciting is the way they continue to bring new heights to the modern more-is-more aesthetic of London's bright young things.

Hot on the heels of its collaboration with 3.1 Phillip Lim, Target has announced that it will next work with the British brand Peter Pilotto. The partnership, which was announced at today's Peter Pilotto Spring 2014 show, is so big that the likely print-heavy pieces won't just be sold at Target stores. They'll also be sold around the world through Net-a-Porter.com
"By working with Target, we're able to broaden our reach and bring our design aesthetic to an entirely new audience," said Pilotto, who has lots of celebrity fans, in a statement. His codesigner, Christopher De Vos, added: "This is a pivotal moment for our brand. Our collection for Target embodies the elegance and spirit of our own line but makes it accessible to everyone."
The collection will be available starting Feb. 9, and will include 70 pieces ranging in price from $15 to $80 for clothing and $17 to $40 for accessories. Click through for a video first look and more information about the collaboration.
Generally with Peter Pilotto's prints, more is more. So, take it as a sign of the new minimalism blowing through fashion that the British designer showed colorblock pieces in navy and white as part of Resort 2014, no doubt due to the influence of urban architecture that he sites in his collection statement. The other major influence that appears throughout is Japanese design, which brings a softer palette to the opening looks of the collection.
And, of course, the wild digital prints with body-twisting shapes are still there for the die-hard Pilotto fans like Miranda Kerr. It's an attention-grabbing collection for a designer whose star is clearly on the rise. Click through to see the full Peter Pilotto Resort 2014 collection.
The British Fashion Council crossed the pond for its London Show Rooms opening in LA — and were met with a crowd of Hollywood's A-listers and trendsetters to celebrate. Stars hit the red carpet clad in British labels represented in the showroom. Selena Gomez picked a little black dress by Marios Schwab, while Julianne Hough stood out in her colorful Peter Pilotto number. Head inside to see who else attended last night's party — and get all the details on what they wore.
Miranda Kerr has taken a liking — a strong one, at that — to Peter Pilotto's bold prints. The model first wore a blue print peplum dress from the designer's Spring 2012 collection with Nicholas Kirkwood sandals in late 2011. Earlier this month, Miranda chose a flirty dress from the Resort 2013 line for her unveiling as the Kids Helpline ambassador. And just this week, at the H&M Global Green pre-Oscars party in LA, she went with another Pilotto dress, this time a colorful cutout number from the Spring 2013 collection, which she completed with black pumps and a black clutch. It's a Miranda Kerr-meets-Peter Pilotto trifecta, and we want to know which look you like best.
Spain's Golden Age inspired the painterly strokes of pattern and embroidery in Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos's Fall 2013 collection. The offering, while perhaps a little darker in mood than the duo has shown in the past, was filled with no shortage of the lurid shades and pattern mixing that made the label famous. Boxy, masculine coats in red, mustard, and lavender were decorated with coordinating splotches of color, while cowhide jackets were stitched together with crisscrossing white cords. The sculptural shoulders and texture-laden knits were eye-catching, but perhaps the most visually striking pieces were the wildly printed puffer jackets.
Inspired by the Spanish Golden Age, Peter Pilotto's Fall 2013 collection was filled with a bright color palette, modern silhouettes, and, of course, designers Christopher De Vos and Peter Pilotto's flair for creating some of the most unique and covetable prints around. The duo looked to El Greco, transposing the famous Spanish Renaissance artist's vibrant use of colors onto a number of sleek, formfitting sheath dresses, fit-and-flare minis, and tailored separates. Embroidered cropped bolero jackets emphasized the duo's inspiration point, while puffer coats were updated with magnetic colorful patterns. Meanwhile, printed trousers and oversize boxy coats injected a modern tilt into the designers' lineup, furthered by the flat patent oxfords they were paired with. The brand's celebrity fans, like Emma Watson, Miranda Kerr, and Kerry Washington, are sure to have a ball with some of these pieces on their next red carpet circuit.
What do Downton Abbey's Lady Mary Crawley, The Vampire Diaries' Elena Gilbert, and Revenge's resident scheming social climber Ashley Davenport have in common? They — or at least their real-life actress counterparts — were all in attendance at Entertainment Weekly's Pre-SAG Party in LA on Saturday night. Michelle Dockery, Nina Dobrev, and Ashley Madekwe were joined by other small-screen award-season fixtures like Naya Rivera and Jordana Brewster for the evening's festivities. The ladies turned out a fun mix of colorfully printed dresses and one sleeker formfitting number. Nina channeled a breezy Summer vibe in her watercolor-printed Matthew Williamson strapless maxi dress, only to finish off the look with an equally easygoing hairdo and Elie Saab clutch. Meanwhile, the prints kept going by way of Michelle's halter-style, fishtail-hemmed Peter Pilotto cocktail dress, Ashley's cap-sleeved Monique Lhuillier number, and Jordana's black-and-white floor-length gown. And just when you think you're noticing a patterned trend (and you'd be spot on), Naya showed off her enviable figure in an strapless, ink-hued leather Monique Lhuillier dress and nude pumps. Whether it's the flirty fodder that caught your eye or the sexier stuff that will inspire your next night-out ensemble, there are five ladies in the running for last night's best-dressed title. Who did it best?
