The good news is that Pierre Hardy's latest creation for Gap — the black wedge, at left — hits Gap stores and online next Tuesday, Oct. 19, and will retail for $195. The bad news? It sounds like the other three Fall 2010 styles Hardy created for the retailer — which were way cool — didn't make it to production, meaning they won't be available at all. [Style File]

>> Fall Pierre Hardy for Gap Collection Out Oct. 19 —A few seasons in now, Pierre Hardy's footwear collaboration with Gap has garnered a cult following, to say the least. In a follow up to Fall 2009's shearling and suede boots, Hardy is back with a lace-up peep-toe wedge, which will retail for $195 and hit Gap stores Oct. 19. It was hard to miss Lake Bell at the LA premiere of Shrek Forever After with her yellow blouse, cute black shorts, and black and white curvaceous kicks. This outfit is properly timed — while the yellow blouse packs a punch, the shorts buffer, and the shoes bring in a courageous surreal sliver. Summer sandals are curving in all directions with thick and thin straps, daring colors, heels and flats. I like how they bring a fluid mix to an outfit; part psychedelic, part sci-fi, totally fun.
Gap's spring collaboration with Pierre Hardy is a welcome diversion from our unproductive obsession with the retailer's fall collection of lace-up boots (not in stores until August). Until then, this lineup will definitely do. Featuring go-with-everything denim and nude wedges ($110) and a flat espadrille that will only set you back $65, all four styles will be available online and in Gap stores next Monday, May 10.
