The Wait Is Over — Prabal Gurung For Target Is Yours to Shop

Target cannot be stopped, and it seems, neither can Prabal Gurung.

Target cannot be stopped, and it seems, neither can Prabal Gurung. The mass retailer announced its latest designer collaboration with Gurung back in October, and today, the gorgeously vibrant lineup is finally available in Target stores and online. The limited-edition collection includes women's ready-to-wear pieces (ranging from $20 to $200) and accessories (bags, shoes, and jewelry will go for $13 to $40). Think of this collection as a bright arsenal of Spring-ready pieces, inspired by a tender love story, and as such, its styling versatility touches on everything from the initial crush, to the first kiss, to everlasting love. "This collection was inspired by love, and if Target's guests can feel even a little bit of the love that I felt while designing this collection, then I will consider it a job well done," said Gurung. Take a look at the designer's Target collaboration in full here, or better yet, shop it now. Which pieces are you loving?

This Week's Best Dressed

Between the Academy Awards nominee events in Los Angeles, BAFTA parties in London, the amfAR gala in New York, and a frenzy of Fashion Week kickoff events, there were certainly plenty of opportunities for the style set to shine this week.

Between the Academy Awards nominee events in Los Angeles, BAFTA parties in London, the amfAR gala in New York, and a frenzy of Fashion Week kickoff events, there were certainly plenty of opportunities for the style set to shine this week. And, boy, did they.

At the amfAR gala, it was all about supermodels in superdresses. Doutzen Kroes went for pleated pink J. Mendel, while Crystal Renn opted for sculptural Zac Posen. Lily Donaldson, Alana Bunte, and Hilary Rhoda all stunned in black, while Toni Garrn was a vision in Winter white Emilio Pucci.

Over in Los Angeles, Jessica Chastain and Naomi Watts were the picture of sweet chic in lace dresses at the Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon; Chastain wore Resort 2013 floral Erdem, while Watts kept it monochrome in all-black Valentino.

A peek at all those looks — plus all the gorgeousness from the Prabal Gurung for Target shopping party, the Marni fragrance launch, and much, much more — here in our weekly best-dressed slideshow.

Prabal Gurung to Design Collaboration For Target

It's finally here: after months of anticipation, the full lookbook and prices for Prabal Gurung's collaboration with Target have arrived.

Gurung's collection of ready-to-wear, accessories, and shoes will be available in Target stores and on its website from Feb. 10 to March 23, and prices will run from $13 to $200. The most expensive piece is a light blue leather biker jacket, while a few pieces of jewelry round out the lowest price point. The offering features a number of floral pieces, and everything in it speaks to Gurung's modern and romantic aesthetic.

Speaking of romance, it's fitting that this collaboration would launch so close to Valentine's Day. Gurung said these clothes were made for falling in love.

"The collection is inspired by a girl's journey through the different stages of love and the clothes she wears during each milestone — from the first date to meeting the parents to the engagement," Gurung said.

All Prabal Gurung Wants For the Holidays Is "Love"

We're going to go out on a limb here and say that the Prabal Gurung for Target collection — slated to launch Feb.

We're going to go out on a limb here and say that the Prabal Gurung for Target collection — slated to launch Feb. 10 — is one of our favorite designer collaborations come to life yet. Yesterday, we got our first in-person look at the collection, and while we can guarantee you'll want a piece, we had to promise not to take any photos (translation: our lips are sealed). On the bright side? Instead of Instagramming up a storm, we caught up with the designer himself. Gurung was on hand to speak candidly about this exciting new partnership, dish on what it was like to veer strongly (and if we might add, he nailed it) into the accessories category, and what he's giving and getting this holiday season. Hint: he's got love on the brain. Want to know Gurung a little better? Right this way.

On the piece he loves most: It's really difficult to pick just one piece. For me, the essence of every look is to make my friends, the girls that I know, and the girls that I don't know feel beautiful. That's the idea behind it all, and for girls to feel and look their best possible. I'll say — in the most abstract way — that any piece that makes you feel great is the piece I love most in that moment.

On how a collaboration line is different: From a design perspective, there wasn't much of a difference between doing a collaboration line and working on my own line. I always approach designing from [the angle of] what makes a girl feel beautiful. Yes, the volume [of a collaboration line] is bigger, so from a logistics standpoint, it's a bit different. But the way I design is very similar.

On his (very cool) lineup of accessories for Target: I wanted this girl to have a head-to-toe look without looking too matchy-matchy. She should look very put together. With the accessories — shoes and handbags — you feel like you've got the complete wardrobe.

On holiday giving . . . and getting: I always give one thing — love — and I want love back. That's it.
