It's been a while since I've gave you a preppy update, but here I am with some tennis-inspired dog gear to celebrate the US Open.
If your dog's ready to play a game of fetch (and not a fan of dressing up), why not sub a simple prop like a collar or accessory? I especially love these visors – I thought I found every possible hat back on National Hat Day, but guess not . . . it's totally tennis prep for pups!
Claudia Schiffer walked her little girl Clementine to school, but she looked more like the student in her preppy-chic outfit. At first glance, the silk scarf and grey blazer can seem stuffy, but her J Brand Lovestory jeans, oversized sunnies, and patent Mulberry Bayswater bag ease it up a bit. Maybe it's because I watched Gossip Girl last night, but doesn't she look like a grownup, more kick-back version of Blair Waldorf?

Classic (and sometimes stuffy) Ivy League staples are given an overhaul with bright colors and updated cuts. In big cities like the big apple, if you're taking public transit, hailing a cab, or trying to sneak bring a doggie into a shop, you're often only allowed if your pet fits in a carrier. But, I remember from one of our first PetMarking missions, there are plenty of cute cases out there for people to choose and use! I don't agree with dog-as-accessory, and I think putting a pup in your purse – a bag not sold specifically for pet purposes – can hurt both the doggie and the bag. Now, Todd Oldham's certainly a busy man – being the new creative director of Old Navy causes him to jet between NYC and SF and sometimes, I'd imagine, he just grabs the first bag laying around before running errands. While there's nothing wrong with his classic L.L. Bean Boat and Tote, but I'd love for him to express that preppiness with a petspecific version instead.
