>> "We've never really done a knitwear statement," said Lazaro Hernandez. "It's just not something we've explored." So for Proenza Schouler Pre-Fall 2011, he and Jack McCollough did just that — experimented with statement knits. The collection highlights a range of ikat and tribal motif prints — "We have Guatemalan stripes, woven in Switzerland," said McCollough. And longer hemlines played a role, too. "It's so much chicer," explained Hernandez.
