Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's clothing line, Elizabeth and James, branched into fine jewelry beginning in Fall '09. Now, the sisterly duo has released its Spring fine jewelry line, which consists of two categories: the bar, a continuation of Fall '09's feather design, and the art deco-inspired crest category. Materials such as solid sterling silver, oxidized silver, 14k gold accents, pave diamond accents, and sapphires are used. Retail prices range from $55 to $1,200, the average price being around $200. The sisters are continuing their partnership with Robert Lee Morris — he is their primary jewelry mentor — but since they have taken a more active role in designing, Robert's name has been removed from the brand. You can buy the new collection at neimanmarcus.com (not Neiman Marcus stores), saks.com, Shopbop, Bloomingdale's, and bloomingdales.com.
>> Mary-Kate, Ashley Olsen Introduce Elizabeth and James Fine Jewelry — Midway through 2008, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen announced they were collaborating with Robert Lee Morris on jewelry for their contemporary line, Elizabeth and James. Now, for Spring, they're moving away from Robert Lee Morris and into more upscale territory with fine jewelry. Morris will continue to produce the most popular pieces from seasons past, but his name is being dropped from the line because the Olsens are now taking a more active role in designing the collection. There's also an uptick in prices, which now reach into the thousands — some of the bar rings, necklaces, and pendants flaunt sapphires and pave diamonds. [Fashionista, FabSugar]
Besides hosting Halloween, October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It affects millions of women in the world — including these courageous celebrities. This exclusive Breast Cancer Awareness Necklace ($58), by Robert Lee Morris for Elizabeth and James, tops my list of awesome, cause-worthy finds. I'm smitten with the simplistic design and the rose gold leaf is beautiful. What a fashionable way to show your support to breast cancer.
Show of hands: how many of you really badly wanted this funky Robert Lee Morris for Elizabeth and James Knuckle Ring ($195) but forced yourself to forget it due to the steep price? Donna Karan is launching an upscale denim line with an extra special twist. See, what makes Donna's collection stand out from others is that her jeans are cut on the bias, see left. Confused? I'll let Donna Karan explain it to you: "I love the fluidity and sensuality of the way a bias-cut fabric drapes and molds the body. When you cut denim on the bias the result is the ultimate in fit and comfortability. There's no side seam, so your legs look long and lean. These jeans are designed to move with you wherever your life takes you." To add icing on the cake, Karan enlisted jewelry extraordinaire Robert Lee Morris to design her denim buttons. The line debuts in late February and will be available at major retailers.

This Halloween, I want to wow everyone at my friend's costume party with a real dazzler. I had you all help me decide on a costume. It would be a tragedy if someone showed up in the same getup, so I asked you to get creative with your ideas. And what a grand job you all did; I wish I could have showcased them all.
I started you off on a clean slate with this Robert Lee Morris "Andy Warhol" Skull Bracelet ($495). Let's see what you all came up with!

>> Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are known for being press-shy, but yesterday they let The Oprah Winfrey Show follow them around on a typical day — which means stops at the Elizabeth and James and The Row showrooms for model fittings, plus meetings with Robert Lee Morris about their ongoing jewelry collaboration. Morris jokes: "Ashley will show up a few days later and undo everything that Mary-Kate did," and the twins do admit that if they can't agree on something, they scrap the idea. We also get a peek at the Spring 2009 Elizabeth and James jewelry — lots of layered chains — and also their new shoe collaboration with Steve Madden — think "beigey suede" and pony skin.
