Met Gala: Elle and Dakota Fanning Double Up on the Rodarte

The Met Gala was a family affair for one of the night's more adorable duos.

The Met Gala was a family affair for one of the night's more adorable duos. Sisters Dakota and Elle Fanning teamed up with fellow siblings Kate and Laura Mulleavy, the designers behind Rodarte, for their red carpet ensembles. While big sister Dakota went for a more sophisticated gown with a plunging neckline and sheer cutout midriff, the 15-year-old Elle opted to play with tie-dye in red, blue, and white silk. Despite similar silhouettes, the outfits weren't overly coordinated — and they both put their own spin on the night's punk theme. So, do you love the Fannings' looks?

Did Keira Knightley Recycle Her Dress For Her Big Day?

Keira Knightley married James Righton in France on Saturday — reportedly in a Rodarte dress she's worn before!

Keira Knightley married James Righton in France on Saturday — reportedly in a Rodarte dress she's worn before! Many assumed that the British beauty would wear head-to-toe Chanel for her big day, especially considering she has been the face of Coco Mademoiselle since 2006 and recently starred in Karl Lagerfeld's short film, Once Upon a Time, as Coco Chanel. But according to sources, Keira actually picked a blush-hued Rodarte tulle dress for the occasion, a look she previously wore to a pre-BAFTA party in 2008.

While she may have gone with Rodarte for the dress, she didn't forgo Chanel altogether. She styled her girlier wedding dress with a chic Chanel tweed jacket and soft-pink ballet flats, also by the label. And in true Keira style, she accessorized with the bare bohemian minimum: a delicate pendant necklace, a floral wreath, and sunglasses. Rodarte: Where Rocker Chicks and Girlie-Girls Collide

The look at Rodarte for Fall 2013 was all about the contrast: a rocker girl and a princess all rolled into one.

The look at Rodarte for Fall 2013 was all about the contrast: a rocker girl and a princess all rolled into one. The hair took on an edgy, ethereal look that paired loads of texture with a rose-like braid/bun hybrid behind the head. Odile Gilbert, working with John Frieda, described the look as a rocker princess with a cool, undone texture. Want to ace this look yourself? Click through to see how.

Rodarte Fall 2013 Runway

Rodarte's Fall 2013 collection could be summed up in four words: punk rock prom queen.

Rodarte's Fall 2013 collection could be summed up in four words: punk rock prom queen. Designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy stayed true to their signature artful color clashing and pattern play while also introducing new, sexier silhouettes. Their always ethereal aesthetic got a jolt of edgy sex appeal with skin-baring cutouts and mesh bodices — not the mention the '90s-era bodysuits worn under low-slung trousers (a look that we all tried at one time during our youth). Sticking with the grunge-inspired feel, cropped leggings were worn under diaphanous dresses and topped with slouchy leather jackets, and each look was topped with layers of chunky gold chains, tough-girl earrings, or spiked headbands.

  • Colors: Black, camel, and white (with pops of purple, pink, red, and blue).
  • Trends: Cutouts, sheer panels, ruffles, tie-dye.
  • Shoes: Ankle-strap, Mary Jane-style platforms worn with floral socks.
  • Front-row fixtures: Carine Roitfeld, Kate Lanphear, and '90s rock style icon Kim Gordon.
  • Beauty look: Loose, romantic half-updos, nude lips with heavy under-eye liner.

Rodarte Fall 2013

Neon lights sticking out of cinder blocks greeted attendees of Kate and Laura Mulleavy's Fall 2013 show for Rodarte, which took '90s motifs to an extreme and beautiful place.

Neon lights sticking out of cinder blocks greeted attendees of Kate and Laura Mulleavy's Fall 2013 show for Rodarte, which took '90s motifs to an extreme and beautiful place. The sisters mixed patterns, textures, and metaphors to pleasing effect, perhaps best articulated in a selection of dresses with tie-dye gowns and sheer bodices with a floral appliqué. There were also lots of gauzy layers: sheer skirts stuck out from underneath outerwear, and there were opaque panels attached to slinky sheer dresses. Of course, it wouldn't be Rodarte if there weren't a completely unexpected element to the show. Enter the flesh-toned socks some of the models wore that were decorated with tattoos by tattoo artist Scott Campbell. Our full review will be posted shortly.

SAG Awards: Best Dressed

With a fivesome like the one we're about to introduce, it's clearly a tight race to the best-dressed finish where SAG Awards red-carpet glamour is concerned.

With a fivesome like the one we're about to introduce, it's clearly a tight race to the best-dressed finish where SAG Awards red-carpet glamour is concerned. That's where your fashionable opinion comes into play. We'll give you the styling rundown and you do the (voting) rest. Jennifer Lawrence continued her award-season reign in yet another Christian Dior Haute Couture gown, this time in a dark navy blue, and polished it all off with a gorgeous Chopard diamond necklace. Naomi Watts stunned in an icy gray silver-beaded and embroidered Marchesa confection, which proved both ornate and elegant. Jessica Chastain reminded us of another Jessica — Jessica Rabbit, that is — in her body-hugging, corset-bodiced Alexander McQueen number. The only things more jaw-dropping than the dress were her megawatt Harry Winston jewels. Kerry Washington struck a sleek, albeit edgier, note in a strapless embellished Rodarte gown, only to finish it off with Fred Leighton '50s-inspired earrings. And Amanda Seyfried (another beauty in navy blue) went for all-out glamour in a mermaid Zac Posen gown, tempering the standout look with a Lorraine Schwartz pendant necklace. There you have it: five stylish contenders and one best-dressed title. Who gets your vote?
