Trend Alert: Feathery Friends

It's all about texture, and more texture.

It's all about texture, and more texture. Meet my new feathery friends. The hybrid of feather and fluff makes for a fun vintage look. Check out how Kate rocked an extra voluminous bronze Burberry frock, while Nicole Kidman radiated in a white shaggy mini by L'Wren Scott at the Australia premiere. If you're not keen on wearing this look head-to-toe, try separates like Tomei in her Alberta Ferretti skirt. Take the plumage and shake a tail feather.

Good to see you fifthofapril!

Good to see you fifthofapril! She's back with a bang looking fabulous in a modern vintage outfit. This eclectic girl decided to pair her futuristic Marni wedges with an artsy vintage jacket and brown dress. I love the rich color combo and silk fabrics. Check out that vintage blue clutch — sizzling.

Here's what she has on:

  • Jacket: Vintage

Expanding on the success of their shoe collection, UGG Australia has just enlisted Los Angeles-based Rozae Nichols to design an outwear collection. Rozae is very excited about the collaboration stating, "I was very attracted to the project. I like leathers and shearlings. They're very interesting materials to work with."

The humble yet luxurious collection will include shearling jackets, reversible vests, and suede bombers intertwining Nichols' design aesthetic along with UGG's classic styling. Sounds cozy.

Meet Kate. The trim blonde owner of the online store rightfully named Kate Boutique. Kate likes her clothes luxe and modern, featuring designers like Jill Stuart, Kooba, Lyell, Tocca, Velvet, TSE and many more. There were even a couple of designers I'd never heard of that caught my eye. This site shines in the organization department as well as the Sale section! For those of you still in cold weather there is lots of cashmere on sale here.

This store also offers free personal shopping assistance for customers who want one-on-one expert attention in making creative and appropriate styling decisions. Taking the customer service even further, you can subscribe to their eNewsletter and get Kate's personal styling tips, advice on how to dress beautifully and confidently, and learn how to make the most out of your wardrobe. Thanks Kate!

To boot: a percentage of all sales go to the local nonprofit Heal the Ocean. An eco-friendly fashionista? Say it isn't so.
