2011 Color Predictions: Rust!

We've talked about how to inject some color in your wardrobe, and now britishstylebloggers report that 2011 might be the year to work a little rust into your wardrobe.

We've talked about how to inject some color in your wardrobe, and now britishstylebloggers report that 2011 might be the year to work a little rust into your wardrobe. On your bike, it's not so good, but in these chic pieces, we are totally fans of rust, and luckily, Topshop and Asos are available stateside!

I'm afraid that's not a typo, I genuinely believe 2011 will be full of the stuff. And not the flaky metal-mould you find on your bike after it was left in the rain (sob!); no I'm talking color. Deep, burnt-orange, glorious color. Whether it's the color of your clothes or even your hair, rust is definitely a must this year!

The high street is already full of rust colored gems, so I thought I'd share my pick of the crop with you.

Roundup: Rust Never Sleeps

Reading a remarkable Lithuanian house tour, I found myself surprisingly gravitating toward these rust-colored curtain panels.

Reading a remarkable Lithuanian house tour, I found myself surprisingly gravitating toward these rust-colored curtain panels. I'm not generally a warm color kind of girl, and the deep orange hue, in particular, is quite masculine (and I'm a girly girl!). But for some reason, I feel the need to rave about rust! I guess it's reminding me of Fall. And since the rest of the room is quite pale, with a glam glass chandelier to boot, the hue looks dapper rather than rustic.

I thought I'd round up some more rustic-colored décor, in case you're loving the hue, too. Enjoy!

March Shopping Madness! Surfer Girl

Whether you're a part of the surf culture, or just like to admire the boys, there is no look cooler than the beachy, fun-loving surfer girl.

Whether you're a part of the surf culture, or just like to admire the boys, there is no look cooler than the beachy, fun-loving surfer girl. She can both ride epic waves and look hot while doing it. Clothes that look fresh and serve a function are key. A few things every surfer girl has oodles of: bikinis, board shorts, sundresses, sunnies, and sunscreen. Adopt this look with a spiritual approach; let your hair go au naturel, ditch heavy makeup, and just be beautiful babe and the sea.
