Safari Launches a Mobile Version of Books Online

I still haven't gotten into the habit of reading eBooks on my cell phone.

I still haven't gotten into the habit of reading eBooks on my cell phone. Call me crazy — because I seem to manage reading pages and pages of emails just fine — I just can't seem to wrap my mind around the idea of reading an entire book on my phone. But for those of you who have already jumped on the phone-reading bandwagon, Safari has just launched a mobile version of its online bookstore.

Accessed by visiting m.safaribooksonline.com on web-enabled cell phones, users can now search the Safari Books Online site to find books. And just a heads up to Safari books newbies, its library selection is basically filled with reference books related to technology, creative, and business and management categories.

Ralph Lauren

Inspired: Ralph Lauren NY Fashion Week 2009

Fashion Week may be over, but we've still got the runway images to gawk over.

Fashion Week may be over, but we've still got the runway images to gawk over. Since we can't sport the new gear 'til Spring, I figured I may as well use it as inspiration for interiors. The Ralph Lauren ensemble shown here is a bit costume-y, but I love its balance of rough, sporty safari elements with glamazon sequins, and its palette of army greens and rustic browns. The Momeni Metro Rug shares the palette but looks luxurious with its ombré effect, so I thought I'd use it as a jumping-off point for a room designed around this Ralph Lauren look. Look of the Day: Safari Garden

I took notice of Rabbit88's outfit because the skirt reminds me so much of Prada's Spring collection.

You all embarked on an exciting tribal safari this week!

You all embarked on an exciting tribal safari this week! From ethnic-print frocks to animal-inspired jewels, your Fab finds revealed (and combined) your love for two of Spring's hottest trends: tribal chic and urban safari.

The Fab Finder of the week is cashmere80, because she found this Wet Seal maxi halter dress, which perfectly suits the tribal safari theme. Every week the Fab Finder I announce Monday morning will receive either a TeamSugar or FabSugar baby T-shirt. I thoroughly enjoy perusing your Fab Finds every week, so dare to be a Fab Finding trendsetter and you just might win a Sugar tee!

Congrats to cashmere80, gbonsol, LtBaze, bobbiluv, WhiplashGirlchild, kerish, and cnyc1a!

Dress Me Up: Smokin' Safari

It's funny that I love the urban safari trend so much — not only am I terrified at the thought of being around wild animals, I'm the last person to rough it in the woods.

It's funny that I love the urban safari trend so much — not only am I terrified at the thought of being around wild animals, I'm the last person to rough it in the woods. Good news! In my smokin' safari world, you'll find no beasts or bugs (sorry Pet!); only the coolest khaki pieces, a pop of yellow, and funky jewels. Won't you join me? Jack and Lazaro, you're invited, too!

Netflix

Download of the Day: iNeedFlix

Ok Safari lovers, I've got a cool download for you!

Ok Safari lovers, I've got a cool download for you! Want to manage your Netflix queue from your browser? Download iNeedFlix, which sits on your desktop and allows you to get up in there and delete movies or move them to the top (unlike the widget that allows you to just SEE what's coming).

I love shortcuts just as much as I love Netflix, and if this thing could just add a browsing capability, I might start really loving Safari!

Old Navy

On Our Radar: Old Navy Turns Over New Leaf

Just like I hinted, Old Navy is getting a fresh, youthful makeover this Spring.

Just like I hinted, Old Navy is getting a fresh, youthful makeover this Spring. Already in stores are safari-themed shirt dresses, jackets, and jumpsuits in rich, earthy tones with animal print mixed in — all still at friendly Old Navy prices.

Then, in March, breezy Palm Beach-inspired dresses in bold green prints, lots of white, and even a little seersucker suiting. If this is an attempt to catch up with the Zaras and the H&Ms of the world, I say bring it on, Old Navy!

The Look For Less: Proenza Schouler Safari Vest

Proenza Schouler's Spring '08 collection was inspirational to me because it took certain safari-esque pieces and glamorized them.

Proenza Schouler's Spring '08 collection was inspirational to me because it took certain safari-esque pieces and glamorized them. I especially fell hard for the belted, long khaki vests (left). But being lovestruck doesn't usually equal cha-ching.
