Hear us out: Miuccia Prada might be onto something. We don't know quite what yet, but she is renowned for her cerebral design ethic and forward thinking, so that has to count for something. When we spotted luxe leather toe-sock shoes — inspired by the Japanese split-toe style, "tabi boots" — making their way down Prada's Spring 2013 runway, our interest was piqued, and our notions of what a shoe should be was thrown for a loop. Now, as we're taking in day three of Paris Fashion Week, we've come across yet another reinvented sole, this time at Rochas. Designer Marco Zanini sent out a flurry of reincarnated rubber-like lace-up wrestler shoes, more Space Age than sports-savvy, but that's not the point. The point is: is this the future of footwear? Are we witnessing the burgeoning postmodern way of wearing a socks-and-sandal combo? We're not sure how to feel, what to think, or if we'd even actually wear this new breed of shoe. But let's turn it over to you: are you feeling it?
