Well, Sarah Jessica Parker just nailed the dressed-down but not sloppy weekend look perfectly, and we're here to help you get it for your own weekend wardrobe. While out in NYC, the actress styled up a basic pair of MiH skinnies with a simple tee and cozy cardigan, plus the requisite ankle boots. The key here were smart proportions — the long-sleeved tee peeked out from the cardigan, the skinny jeans offset the slouchiness of the sweater, and they were perfectly cuffed to show off the booties. Jaime King Nails 3 Looks in 1 Very Busy Day
By the looks of it, Jaime King had quite a day yesterday — not only did the actress event-hop from the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund fete at Chateau Marmont to the dinner that followed, she also found the time to make an appearance at the Samsung Galaxy launch party later that night, and coordinated an outfit change for each. Besides wondering how in the world she pulled that off (?!), she's also left us with quite a bit of styling fodder. For the first event, she joined the fashion elite in a paisley-printed, peplum-trimmed sheath, befitting for a luncheon at the Chateau Marmont. Later on, she switched into a print-on-print top and trouser combo, offset with a leather jacket; for the finale, she kept the leather jacket and slipped into a feminine, floral-printed dress. While we're not suggesting that you attempt an outfit-change thrice in one night, there is a lesson here in dressing for the occasion, or three:

- Don't underestimate the power of a pretty, ladylike dress. Jaime's standout print adds interest without upstaging the polished silhouette — it's the kind every girl should have in her arsenal, as it could seamlessly take you from an afternoon event to evening, with the change of footwear.
- As an alternative to the cocktail dress, Jaime's printed trouser and top set could easily work for a more dressed-up dinner or an evening out. To temper the formality, opt for an edgy accent, just like Jaime did, with a leather jacket.
- Jaime's last look is a reminder to think outside of the usual dress code. While night-out wear usually means minidresses and skinny jeans, a look like Jaime's will get you noticed for the right reasons and your fashion creativity. Look for a pretty dress with special details — a great print, a chiffon fabric, and a longer length (which can be a great option for cooler weather). If you fear you're on the too-dressy side of things, work a leather or denim jacket in the mix for a cooler effect, then finish with a great pair of heels.
Yes, the Fur Vest Is Officially a Fall Staple — 10 Ways to Wear It Now
After yet another season, the (faux) fur vest emerged once again as a staple in our closets. Why? Its luxe look adds interest to any Fall look, not to mention that it stylishly protects us from the chill. If the parade of style-setters, like Olivia Palermo, or the runways rife with fur layers, like J. Mendel, haven't yet convinced you of its ultrachic effect, then allow us to persuade you. Inside we've outfitted 10 ways to wear one awesome faux-fur vest for Fall — no matter what the occasion. In fact, you could wear this piece from the office to the weekend and even as the finishing touch on your most glamorous of looks. But don't just take our word for it; click through for the proof.
How to Keep Cozy (Without Looking Sloppy) at Work
When the real cold weather starts, it's tempting to ditch any sort of dress code and head to work wrapped up in a sleeping bag. Thankfully, common sense (and a little vanity) brings us to our senses; but since Winter definitely means bundling up, even for the office, we're helping you to do it as stylishly as possible. No, a corporate look isn't exactly cozy, but there are ways to warm up the suit look (aside from following Anna Dello Russo's lead and slapping a stick-on heating pack under our clothes) with some creative layering. For our favorite ways to do just that — plus a few key pieces — read on:
- The surest way to stay warm and polished is all about the fabrics you choose. Winter calls for heavier finishes, like velvet, corduroy, and wool. While you wouldn't wear a wool suit in August, you also shouldn't wear your linen jackets in November. Trade your breezy fabrications for something more cozy, like these wool trousers or this velvet blazer.
- Layers don't have to be bulky or oversize to get the job done. A knit layer as the base of your look, like a turtleneck sweater, is a great starting place and will insulate against the chill better than any button-down can. Add it underneath a suit jacket to top off your trousers, or even layer it under your classic sheath dress to stay polished with a cozy twist.
As If You Didn't Want to Be Totally Clueless This Halloween

It goes without saying that we are big Clueless fans here at Fab, and for good reason: the 1995 coming-of-age tale is completely engrained in our memories, not just for the hilarious lines and plot twists, but for the over-the-top, semiridiculous fashion. There's no better time to be completely fearless with your fashion choices than Halloween, which is why we're advocating that you dress up as Cher, Dionne, and Tai for your big night. We've rounded up everything you need for a totally clueless Halloween costume — so grab some friends (preferably one with braids?) and shop these pieces faster than you can say, "You're a virgin who can't drive."
Whatever you do, don't wear a watch: a watch doesn't go with this outfit!
The Thigh's the Limit: Push Your Style Boundaries in Over-the-Knee Boots

Listen up, Fall shoe shoppers: today, we're talking over-the-knee boots. It's only natural to assume that this style is hard to pull off, but you'd be dead wrong. With the right style, color, and attitude, you can absolutely rock a pair of over-the-knee boots — and subsequently be the envy of your friends. We saw the sexy style on the runways at Givenchy, Altuzarra, Alexander Wang, and Proenza Schouler (just to name a few) — and when done right, it looks more Anita Pallenberg than Pretty Woman. For our style tips, and to shop 23 of our favorite pairs, just keep reading.
Yes, Halle Berry Still Looks Amazing — Now We Need That Dress
Halle Berry stepped out for the premiere of her new film, Cloud Atlas, in LA last night with the looks and the dress that defied her 46 years. The actress makes it hard to believe she's a day over 25 — those legs, that glow. While we may never know the secret behind her superhuman good looks (is it just great genes?), we do know her stunning appearance last night had a lot to do with that little Dolce & Gabbana dress. Now we want one of our own. Thanks to the feminine fit and lacy metallic finish, it's just the kind of thing we'd throw on for our upcoming Holiday parties. Sure, it's on the sexier side, but you can still adopt the festive metallic sheen on a lace dress that's a little less body-conscious. We've rounded up a few of the standouts to get you one step closer to achieving Halle Berry bombshell status.

Look to Steal: Christian Dior's Romantic Ballerina Look For Less

We can't help but fall in love with this romantic look from Christian Dior's romantic Fall collection, and in a perfect world, we'd snatch this look right off the runway. Sadly, that's not the case, but don't expect that to stop us from emulating the same cozy, ballerina-esque ensemble for the season. Just layer a gray wrap sweater over a thick turtleneck and finish off the look with a dusty peach tulle skirt, suede ankle-strap pumps, and a gray beanie. The results? An utterly beautiful look for a dinner date, a day at the gallery, or your next holiday party. Shop our picks in the links below.

You Can Be an Olympic Gold-Medal Gymnast Too (For Halloween, That Is)

If you were an avid watcher of the London Olympics, then you're probably already on a first-name basis with Gabby, Aly, Jordyn, McKayla, and Kyla, yes? In that case, following suit on their bold "uniforms" might be one of the greatest — not to mention easiest — tributes you could pay to the Fab Five this Halloween. Warning: emulating a US gold-medal gymnast may require some serious skin-baring (we've included a classic Adidas track suit for a quick coverup option, no worries) and a generous amount of hair spray. That said, we think this costume is perfect for rallying the troops (otherwise known as dressing up with four of your girlfriends), or doing the solo thing à la the individual all-around. Whatever route you take, you'll still need these four things to get the look: a sparkly long-sleeved leotard, a faux gold medal, a hair scrunchie, and a full bottle of hair spray. Then, enhance your gymnast credibility with a little body shimmer thrown into the mix too, and don't be afraid to apply liberally. Seriously. The rest is up to you — although, a few backflips and somersaults might help your case. At the very least, we're pretty sure this Halloween costume will impress McKayla.
