Nine West Announces Upcoming Designer Collabs!
Nine West, in a strategy called Shoelaberations, is committed to designer collaborations to keep its brand fresh — and by our guess, irresistible. In an article in WWD, Nine West announced that Brooklyn-based designer, CFDA award-winner, and French expat Sophie Theallet will debut a capsule collection of shoes and accessories for Spring 2011. What's more, new Ungaro designer Giles Deacon is working on a collection for Fall 2011. Yippee! Here's a sneak peek at two of Theallet's pieces. We think they're a perfect match for a sundress and a picnic along the Seine, no?

CFDA Inducts 26 New Members for 2010, Including L'Wren Scott and Sophie Theallet
>> Wednesday evening, Vera Wang moved almost all of the furniture out of her vast Park Avenue apartment to toast this year's 26 new CFDA inductees. “It may not be as big as Donna Karan’s loft, but I can fit you all in,” Wang said of her duplex, which she estimated was hosting 300 guests. Tommy Hilfiger and wife Dee Ocleppo were impressed, however — The Cut caught them exclaiming: “It's amazing. The kitchen is sick. Our kitchen is like, a tenth of that size. That's like a restaurant kitchen.”

The new members include: Waris Ahluwalia — who said of the honor, “I feel like I almost should put this on my passport as my fashion visa. It's nice to make this baby official!", Steven Alan, Lisa Axelson of Ann Taylor, Lubov Azria, Shane Baum of Baumvision, Vicki Beamon and Karen Erickson of Erickson Beamon, George Esquivel, Robert Geller, Gary Graham, Ulrich Grimm of Calvin Klein, Sang A Im-Propp, Anthony Keegan of Commonwealth Utilities, Adam Kimmel, Nikki Kule of Kule, Kimberly McDonald, Rebecca Minkoff, Bibhu Mohapatra, Juan Carlos Obando, Monique Péan, Monica Rich Kosann, Pamella Roland, Robert Rodriguez, L'Wren Scott, Shelly Steffee, and Sophie Theallet, who just moved into a new office space.

Sophie Theallet Says Olé With Her Makeup
For Sophie Theallet's presentation, Nars lead makeup artist Lena Koro was inspired by Chavela Vargas, the 91-year-old singer of Mexican folk songs. She called the look "polished and bright," and all eyes were on the bold red lip. To get the look, Koro applied Nars Pure Matte lipstick in Vesuvio, followed by a coat of Triple X lip gloss. On eyes, Koro used Cordura and Tzarine duo eye shadows, along with two forthcoming shades: a creamy color from spring 2011's Calanque eye shadow trio, and the black hue of Okinawa eye shadow trio, out for holiday. Skin was simple — just a little tinted moisturizer to even things out — and Nars Deep Throat blush added heat to the cheeks.
The Met's Costume Institute Gala: Vera Farmiga
Unlike many guests tonight, Vera Farmiga brought color to the carpet. Her blue Sophie Theallet frock is super romantic, and matches her baby blues beautifully. The black ribbon detail adds a sharp edge, while statement Van Cleef & Arpels earrings and ring provide sparkle. Love it or hate it?
