Can you feel it? Fall is almost on its way, and what better way to get excited than looking at all of what's to come. Our latest batch of Fall ads feature cool campaigns from the likes of Jean Paul Gaultier, Jil Sander, Tommy Hilfiger, St. John, Calvin Klein, to name a few. My favorite has to be Stella McCartney's campaign featuring model of the moment, Natalia Vodianova. That camel knit cardi looks super sumptuous, and we adore the quirky cute typography. Trend Alert: Galactic Jackets
While galactic shimmer is perfect for nighttime glamour, galactic jackets are ideal during the daytime. Girl about town and London-based stylist Caroline Sieber showed off this trend during Paris Fashion Week wearing a cool blue out-of-this-world printed jacket. Such statement jackets don't need a lot of accompaniments; a cute frock or dark skinnies would do. But leave it to Caroline — who's had past stints styling Emma Watson — to mash up her galactic wonder with a printed top. Want to get the same look? Abstract and cool-hued tie-dye patterns will take you one step closer to Pandora . . .
How to Wear Fall's Green Trend: Sleek Utilitarian
Now that you have the sexy explora and hot militarian looks down, let's ponder the sleek utilitarian. This ensemble mixes tailored elements, like this structured tweed coat, with soft cargos and a safari-inspired shirt. The different textures and varying shades of green create delicious depth. Oh, don't forget to complement your green tones with a pair of suede mustard booties and purple polish — delish.

Celeb Style: Penelope Cruz
If you think about it, Penelope has a laid-back glamor. Sure, she goes glamazon on the red carpet, but for her day-to-day style, she lives in jeans and cool classics. She attended a lunch honoring her performance in Nine at LA's L'Ermitage hotel in Winter white and denim. Her Chanel tweed jacket is timeless but completely unstuffy because of her shoe-covering bootcut jeans. She kept everything else simple; with that gorgeous hair and face, not much else applies.

Fab Ad: St. John, Spring '10
St. John is over the celebrity marketing campaign. While most of you loved the Angelina Jolie ads for St. John, the brand felt a little differently. “[Jolie] overshadowed the brand,” said CEO Glenn McMahon. “We wanted to make a clean break from actresses and steer away from blondes and cleanse the palette.”
So for Spring '10, the brand stayed clear of any Hollywood names and instead chose the beauteous Karen Elson to show off its sleek collection. Check out that fiery red hair! So glamorous, and I like how it adds extra drama to St. John's black beaded gown. No stars, no distractions — just an amazing model wearing an amazing dress. What do you think?
Trend Alert: Jewel Embellished Tees
Check it, the reason I'm smitten with jewel embellished tees is that they're simultaneously fancy and kick-back. Yes, we talked about bejeweled necklines before, but putting statement baubles on comfy tees is totally fresh. The way I see it, you can spend the big bucks and buy one, or you can DIY. All you need is a simple tee, some gems from the local bead shop, and a little imagination. Done and done.
Celeb Style: Kristen Bell
The always-delightful Kristen Bell shimmied her way into the pre-Golden Globe Awards party in Hollywood wearing a pair of sparkly Monique Lhuillier trousers. Talk about a statement piece! The rest of her look was simple as she tucked in a basic white tank and accessorized with a siver necklace. Shop a similar look now.

On Our Radar: St. John Launches Contemporary Line
St. John is expanding its wings to include a young contemporary line dubbed SoCa. Hoping to reach a younger audience, SoCa offers a causal but not too beachy approach to clothing compared to St. John's traditional and refined designs. “SoCa is based on the Southern California lifestyle, but with a sophisticated urban edge” said CEO Glenn McMahon.
Expect a variety of trendy offerings ranging from casual and colorful work garb to cocktail dresses and embellished tops. The line debuts in November at major retailers such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdale’s. Just look for the saffron-colored SoCa label. Retail prices range from $195 to $295 for tops and pants, and $395 to $695 for jackets and dresses.

Angelina: St. John Model No More
Angelina: St. John Model No More
She may be about to add twins to the ever-growing Brangelina brood, but it looks like Angelina Jolie is about to lighten the load in at least one area of her life. WWD reports that the actress will be ending her three-year position as the face of St. John knitwear, for which she starred in a series of iconic black and white photographs by famed fashion photographer Mario Testino.
Trend Alert: Seeing Colorful Spots
This next trend might have you seeing colorful spots. Don't worry, it's not the measles or chicken pox! If black and tan animal prints aren't bold enough for ya, this Summer's take on animal prints are roaring with bright, electric hues. Attempt a yellow, green, or even hot pink animal print frock like this one from Just Cavalli and take a walk on the wild side.
