There's nothing quite like a "secret garden party" to break up the slew of runways and presentations during fashion week. That's exactly what Alice + Olivia's Stacey Bendet created yesterday with her party meets presentation, complete with floral-wrapped trellises, birdcages — and the cute Spring clothes to go with it. The collection was a mix of two eras, showing '60s-inspired vibrant floral print palazzo pants, bold striped flared trousers, draped jumpsuits, and a sweet array of mod dresses. Meanwhile, pretty sequined dresses — we especially loved the black and white striped rendition — nodded to Bendet's signature '40s flair. Now just who do we predict is expected to wear this collection? With celebs like Kourtney Kardashian, LeAnn Rimes, Eva Amurri, and beautiful singer Corinne Bailey Rae in full attendance, we have no doubt some these pieces will be swooped up soon. Check out more details from Alice + Olivia's sweet botanical-themed soiree below.
Alice + Olivia designer Stacey Bendet revealed her new Fall 2011 collection at New York Fashion Week, showcasing an uptown vibe with a bit of downtown edge. Her signature cocktail dresses were on full display, along with a move toward more sophisticated separates. Returning to her roots of designing the perfect pair of pants, Bendet has her girl dressed to impress in knits and trousers for the next fashion season. At the Fall 2011 Alice + Olivia presentation — attended by style-setters Vanessa Hudgens, Gossip Girl's Kelly Rutherford, and Tika Sumpter — we spoke with designer Stacey Bendet about her newest collection, self-described as a modern-day Auntie Mame. The line still features the glamorous girl-about-town party dresses she's famous for, but also includes a few more mature separates. Watch our video to hear more from Bendet, including the surprise guest she hinted would spice things up at the party.
