Stars and Stripes . . . For Fido.

Now I'll use nearly any excuse to buy North a new item but I'm not sure we're quite patriotic enough for a full on flag print!

In spirit of the Fourth of July, I've hunted down some of the cutest products for your furry friends featuring stars and stripes. While these items may be mostly red, white, and blue, they're not too seasonal to be used all year long!

Love It or Hate It

Emilio Pucci Striped Star Scarf: Love It or Hate It?

I've been starry-eyed all Spring, but this Emilio Pucci Striped Star Scarf ($277, originally $395) looks more like a starfish than something I'd want to adorn myself with.

Belts

March Shopping Madness: Belt It Out

In the wrong hands, or rather on the wrong waist, a belt can look out of place, but if worn tastefully, it can work wonders.

In the wrong hands, or rather on the wrong waist, a belt can look out of place, but if worn tastefully, it can work wonders. Take for example a voluminous blouson top; sans belt, it's shapeless, but with one, your waist is accentuated. Patricia Field can back me up on this.

On the Spring runways, belts ran the gamut from starry, see YSL (left), to geometric at Fendi, to suave at Gucci. There's plenty to go around, so find your match, and belt it out . . . loud!

Fab Finding Follow Up: Transitional Clothes

Ah, the transition between seasons.

Ah, the transition between seasons. It's the only time you have your entire wardrobe to play with. It's not so hot that you can go out in a tank top, but it's not so cold where you need a jumbo parka. The key to dressing for this limbo period is layering.

I started you off with this Mini-Star Print Scarf ($20) because it's right on point with the latest starry-eyed trend. Let's see what you all came up with!

Look # 1, created by leeluvfashion is prim, proper, and bright; it's warm but not suffocating.

Fab Finds of the Week: Seeing Stars

After stars spangled the Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent runways, I knew the five-pointed motif was going to be big for Spring — and Fab UK is already on it.

After stars spangled the Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent runways, I knew the five-pointed motif was going to be big for Spring — and Fab UK is already on it. Leighton Meester and Kate Moss have both sported stars in the last couple of months, and now the pattern is trickling into your Fab Finds.

The Fab Finder of the week is gruaig_rua, because she is a star spotting all-star. Every week the Fab Finder I announce Monday morning will receive either a TeamSugar or FabSugar baby T-shirt. I thoroughly enjoy perusing your Fab Finds every week, so dare to be a Fab-Finding trendsetter and you just might win a Sugar tee!

Ah, the transition between seasons. It's the only time you have your entire wardrobe to play with. It's not so hot that you can go out in a tank top, but it's not so cold where you need a jumbo parka. The key to dressing for this limbo period is layering. Think cardigans, beanies, dresses over sweaters . . . you catch my drift.

I'll start you off with this Mini-Star Print Scarf ($20) as it's right on point with the latest starry-eyed trend.

Let's go Fab Finding for a stylish yet comfy transitional outfit. Be sure to come back and tell me your Fab Finds are up, or just tag your Fab Finds with transitional outfit.

Celebrity Style: Leighton Meester

Gossip Girl Leighton Meester (aka Blair Waldorf) was looking quite the Fabionista in her one-shoulder star dress at InStyle Diamond Fashion Show Preview Luncheon yesterday.

Gossip Girl Leighton Meester (aka Blair Waldorf) was looking quite the Fabionista in her one-shoulder star dress at InStyle Diamond Fashion Show Preview Luncheon yesterday. It seems the star trend has already trickled down from the runways to the red carpet and I like it. A star wearing stars? Brilliant!

A Stars Concert for Your Very Own Computer

I didn't get to see Montreal's Stars on their recent U.S.

I didn't get to see Montreal's Stars on their recent U.S. tour, but the video podcast the group just recorded for Spinner's Interface is the next best thing. The performance includes four songs from the group's most recent must-have album, In Our Bedroom After the War, plus an interview with frontman Torquil Campbell and drummer Pat McGee. (No Amy Millan for the interview, sadly, though she's there for the performances.)

All four songs from the intimate performance sound great, but I've been playing the video for "Take Me to the Riot" over and over again. The chorus — which, to me, sounds exactly like a Smiths song — gets wedged in my head, and I just have to give it another listen. Do you hear the Morrissey in there, too? You can download the podcast for yourself, or to watch the performance of "Take Me to the Riot" and the interview, just read more

Music Video: Stars, "Window Bird" (With Cuddly Toys!)

Admittedly, the beautiful music made by Montreal's Stars can be a bit melancholy.

Admittedly, the beautiful music made by Montreal's Stars can be a bit melancholy. According to frontman Torquil Campbell, the eerie romance is fully intentional: "If you could make horror movies that were like love stories, that would be my ultimate genre.”

So it's delightfully incongruous that the band's new video for "Window Bird" features cute stuffed-animal creatures cavorting through urban landscapes, lakes, and restaurants. The song appears on Stars' must-have fourth album, In Our Bedroom After the War, and hearing it over images of liberated stuffed animals makes it even more tender and gently heartbreaking. It's also adorable, so to watch the cuteness, read more

Wish Upon a Paris Star

Paris really ended the fashion weeks of Spring with a bang.

Paris really ended the fashion weeks of Spring with a bang. A big bang. A big bang where all I could see was stars. Not of the Pop sort, of the celestial sort. A sucker for a flashy motif once in a while, we saw Chanel's take on black and white stars — gorgeous — and bold metallic stars entranced on Pilati's Yves Saint Laurent runway. While Pilati's collection received lukewarm reviews, I loved the star motif used on shoes, belts and jewelry. Call me a teeny bopper, I was starstruck after these two Paris presentations. Did they razzle dazzle you too?
