Chloe's white draped and knotted Marios Schwab cotton dress may be very Venice beach circa 1982, but like many of her rare finds, Chloe rocks it with aplomb. She even has the beachy hair — and Jimmy Choo sandals — to go with. The standout detail on her cool dress is the knot that gives way to a high thigh slit. If you too are feeling knotty, there are hybrids aplenty. Knots are a majestic detail that can make a top, dress, or piece of jewelry unique. I have a twisted pair of studs that always pique interest.
The Ruffle Cocktail Dress

Just because it's a cocktail dress exploring one of Fall's biggest trends, doesn't mean it has to be boring or expected--these five dresses, each with their own unique take on the ruffle trend, would suit a variety of personalities and aesthetics. The Clu dress, for example, shows how ruffles don't have to be ultra-feminine while the Marc by Marc Jacobs dress shows how they don't have to look like they're trying so hard. The three above show ladylike, printed, and sophisticated instances (from left to right) and they're all, in fact, quite different as a result. To be trendy and still have style, it's essential to stay true to your own preferences. Thankfully, when it comes to this trend, contemporary designers gave us plenty of options.
Trend Alert: The Single Sleeve
The life of the single gal can be lonely. But there are no tears here. Single gal, meet single sleeve. Dramatic, sexy, and ready to party. Just look to Jada (see left) for inspiration. But I'm confused. You loved Alexis Bledel's Mischen one sleeve LBD, but not Maria Sharapova's Lanvin. What gives? Single sleeves for everybody!
Celebrity Style: Kate Hudson
Kate Hudson introduced her new man to her mom Goldie during a casual afternoon lunch in Santa Monica. The actress also showed off her love of flowy dresses by wearing a teal halter maxi by T-Bags and accessorizing with Giuseppe Zanotti buckle sandals and an ostrich bag. Seeing as Santa Monica is an urban beach community, this comfy-cum-cute ensemble is quite appropriate.
Trend Alert: Long & Lean

No doubt Keira Knightley is long & lean. And, while Sienna Miller isn't a big girl by any standards, she isn't tall. But slip on a long black maxi dress and the illusion is created. You can also achieve this with tailored trousers, a flattering jumpsuit, an opposing palette and really high heels. Are you up for the challenge? Trust me, it's worth it. The proof is in the pudding. That pudding being long & lean duo Keira (in Chanel) and Sienna (in Jasmine Di Milo) at The Edge of Love photocall.
The Look for Less: T-Bags Solid Terry Jumper

The jumper is a highly popular trend this season and I can see why. It has a child-like charm and is the perfect excuse to fashionably show off those legs you've been working so hard at the gym. This T-Bags Solid Terry Jumper ($176) is the perfect substitute to wearing short shorts. The color is crisp and the gold button detailing is adorable but I'm not too keen on spending my hard earned money on such a novelty.

T-Bags Print V Neck Dress: Love It or Hate It?
Prints are a surefire way to spruce up a wardrobe. But beware: they sometimes run into tacky town. Take, for instance, this T-Bags Print V Neck Dress ($167). I love the spruce green print but the short hemline and low V neck leaves little to the imagination. Do you think this tiny frock is hot, or not?

Life's a Beach: Bandeau Babe

If you're like me and cringe at the idea of tan lines, I suggest you join the bandeau babe club. True, you can't frolic through the waves in one of these — if you must, I suggest getting one with a removable halter strap — but also true, this style suit is retro active. Many celebs have been favoring the cool strapless vibe of a bandeau, see Drew and her beau giggling in the waves. Drew, who is a member of the club, proves the bandeau to be bodacious.
Trend Alert: Seeing Colorful Spots
This next trend might have you seeing colorful spots. Don't worry, it's not the measles or chicken pox! If black and tan animal prints aren't bold enough for ya, this Summer's take on animal prints are roaring with bright, electric hues. Attempt a yellow, green, or even hot pink animal print frock like this one from Just Cavalli and take a walk on the wild side.
