Who Wore It Better? Pink and White Gucci Ikat Dress

What a fantastic dress.

What a fantastic dress. I loved this pink and white Gucci Ikat dress when January Jones wore it to a pre-Golden Globe Awards party in January. It's girlie, yet modern. Taraji P. Henson chose the same frock for an evening at Cipriani with Mary J. Blige and friends last night. Both ladies opted for black shoes, but January's are satin pumps and Taraji's are architectural sandals. JJ grabbed a small black purse (you can sort of see it on the table next to her), and Taraji a pearl white clutch. Lastly, Taraji wore David Yurman drop earrings and fun teal nail polish. Who wins — less or more?!

What a busy week!
Pictures of Best Dressed Celebrities 2010-06-11 14:00:22

What a busy week! From the MTV Movie Awards, to the CFDA Awards, to the CMT Music Awards, there was an overflow of fashion. Plus movie premieres and Summer soirees. But here's what's most interesting: the men. Ladies, watch out because someone's stealing your thunder. Case in point: Ed Westwick in a saucy gray suit and aviators. On the heels of Net-a-Porter's Mr Porter launch, this goes out to all the dapper dudes.

2010 Independent Spirit Awards: Taraji P. Henson

Taraji struck a pose on the blue carpet wearing a navy one-shouldered dress.

Taraji struck a pose on the blue carpet wearing a navy one-shouldered dress. The longer knee-length hemline is a sophisticated choice, while a high slit adds just the right amount of sexy. Fancy woven sandals by Cesare Paciotti, drop earrings, and a knockout ring complete her look. Are you feeling it?

Taraji Henson struck a sweet pose in an elegant one-shoulder gown by Alberta Ferretti. The soft hue complements the Grecian-inspired cut and I like her accompaniments: a statement ring, beaded clutch, and silver bracelet. Simple and elegant.

MTV Movie Awards: Taraji P. Henson

Taraji P. Henson had a few mullet moments earlier this month, but The Curious Case of Benjamin Button star chopped the "party in the back" and brought rocker edge to the red carpet tonight.

Her natural lip hue draws our attention to her shiny and tousled 'do, long lashes, and sweeping liner. It's all a little bit Tina Turner circa 1986 and oh-so-glam. What do you think?

The LA Lakers hit the court at the Staples Center for game five of the Western Conference Finals against the Denver Nuggets last night. The game was close, but the hometown team pulled out the big win. The audience was star-studded as usual including familiar faces like Zac Efron and Jack Nicholson while Ellen Pompeo and MIA had their men by their sides. Kim Kardashian excitedly twittered about heading to the game with Reggie Bush, though she was rooting for her friend LaLa's boyfriend Carmelo Anthony on the Nuggets. The Lakers have the chance to win the series in Denver tomorrow, but if they have to come home for game seven their celebrity good luck charms will be there to cheer them on.

Oscars Fab Roundup!

What did you think of this year's Oscars?

What did you think of this year's Oscars? Here's my take. I enjoyed the show more, with the fresh talent, cool sets, and quick editing, but the red carpet wasn't the most exciting. Aside from some of my red-carpet favorites not even walking the red carpet, there were simply too many ivory and beige gowns. There, I said it. That doesn't mean these dresses weren't beautiful, it was simply safe, and safe is boring to me. Nonetheless, we still made a party out of it. Be sure to play our Oscars faceoff game and get Angelina's emerald jewels for less. Here's a roundup of everything else Fab and Oscars.

Fab's Oscar Top Three

What I enjoyed about this year's Oscars was the chance for some red carpet newbies to shine.

What I enjoyed about this year's Oscars was the chance for some red carpet newbies to shine.

Though I was super disappointed red carpet superstars Cate, Reese, and Nicole were either absent or didn't walk the red carpet, it was nice seeing new enthusiastic faces. Especially Benjamin Button nominee Taraji Henson. Every time the camera chose her, she was smiling and bright. Her buttercream Roberto Cavalli confection was absolutely delectable, I wanted to eat it up. The tiered cascading gown also had the perfect size fishtail, not too overwhelming, but still dramatic. I'm sure you also noticed her vintage necklace — 19th-century Fred Leighton. She gave a nod to the red carpet (and added a punch of color) with her burgundy silk Mary Norton clutch.
