Sure there are hair, makeup, and nail trends, but one specific beauty trend that's been emerging as of late is designer packaging. From collaborations with designers to crystal-embellished products, see how some of the most common tools have been dressed up to impress.

  • Why brush your teeth with that boring old brush your dentist gave you? Reach by Design has just come out with its latest line of patterned toothbrushes, which were designed by Shoshanna Gruss and Flipping Out's Jeff Lewis.
  • From Harajuku Lovers to Betsey Johnson, Tweezerman is always pairing up with the best in quirky. But this time around, it's all about the bling. Available now are the brand's Swarovski Crystal Tweezers and Stand ($200) or the Crystal Slant Tweezers ($100), available in various hues.
  • Tarina Tarantino is known for her cute jewelry and fun, colorful makeup, and now she's taken her vibrant design sense into the hairstyling tools realm. Take a Peek at Tarina Tarantino's New Makeup Line

I've adored Tarina Tarantino's totally wild and unabashedly girly jewelry and hair accessories (think pink-haired Hello Kitty, beads made of "dollskin," and fuchsia Alice in Wonderland cameos) for a few years now, so you can imagine my excitement when Sephora announced that her new makeup line collaboration is bowing online in February and in stores in March.

I'm usually not one for rhinestones on my makeup, but this collection looks like it could be kick butt. There are going to be 24 high pigment eye shadows, 13 shades of bright eyeliner, and a plethora of other products. What about you, though? Is this exciting, or does Tarina T's line leave you in the cold?

Tarina's Witchy Wizardly Wares

Not into gothic jewels?

Not into gothic jewels? How about bewitched "Wizard of Oz"-themed baubles? The queen of jeweled kitsch, Tarina Tarantino (no relation to Quentin), is launching a new jewelry and handbag collection named “My Pretty” celebrating the 70th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz. Items are inspired by the characters in the old tale. For example, the Dorothy collection promises rainbows mixed with emerald tones inspired by the Emerald City, and the Wicked Witch collection contains tooth-and-claw-shaped Lucite and metal spikes. Prices will range from $50 to $350 and hit Tarantino stores in June. Sounds wicked cute. P.S. That is Debi Mazar modeling some of the Oz-y goods!
