Tavik Swimwear Spring/Summer 2012 Collection

Nicole Hanriot has worked tirelessly over the past few years to make a name for herself in the swimwear industry — and let's just say, the girl is making big things happen. Since launching Tavik Swimwear in 2010, Nicole has put in place an impressive line of fun, flirty, slightly edgy swimsuits that can be mixed and matched to the wearer's content. In past collections, the themes have ranged from '90s-chic geometric prints (think the opening credits to Saved by the Bell), heavy metal-inspired acid wash treatments, '60s-starlet poolside glam, and most recently, a Mexican Riviera-inspired grouping full of bold florals and bright hues.

For Spring/Summer 2012, the Tavik collection embodies its signature California beach-babe lifestyle, as well as a Western Aztec edge — partly inspired by Nicole's early Texas upbringing. "I used lots of animal prints like snake and tiger, and did lots of shredding on the suits to give them a edgier effect," she explained. "The colors are a bit more muted, but still make a statement. It is definitely our most contemporary collection yet!"

The line has set the bar high this season in terms of style and design, but we're positive that the challenge will be met and succeeded. If you need any more proof that Tavik is on fire, we suggest you take a gander at the photos from the Spring/Summer '12 collection, recently shown on the runway during Miami Swim Week. Summer Travel Guide: Sicily

Sicily is home to heavenly beaches, majestic mountains and Europe's oldest active volcano.
What to Wear in Sicily 2011-06-16 13:05:42

Sicily is home to heavenly beaches, majestic mountains and Europe's oldest active volcano. The coasts are gold with orange and lemon orchards, and each scenic region offers something totally different. When it comes to Sicilian vacation style, the most important thing to keep in mind is your shoes — it's inevitable that you'll do tons of walking, so comfortable footwear is essential. The climate during the Summer months is dry and hot, so keep cool with lots of easy, breezy cotton and linen fabrics. Skirts and sundresses are favored over shorts, so feel free to pack all your ladylike favorites. Whether you're stretched out on the beaches of Lido Mazzarò, hiking Mount Etna, or getting dolled up for La Passeggiata, we've put together some looks that will have you living la dolce vita in no time.
