>> Iman Joins Isaac Mizrahi as Co-Host of Bravo's The Fashion Show —Although Alessandra Ambrosio was rumored for the position, Bravo just announced that Iman has signed on to replace Kelly Rowland as co-host of fashion competition series The Fashion Show. She joins host Isaac Mizrahi, who is returning for the second season. In the release, Iman notes: "I am so excited to be joining the Bravo team and to be working again with Isaac Mizrahi, my close friend of many, many years. I am also looking forward to all of the behind-the-scenes excitement and drama that is generated through the creative process of these undiscovered fashion designers. This will certainly be a show any follower of fashion will want to see.” The show is currently holding open calls and will air later this year.

Isaac Mizrahi, Live on QVC!

Isaac Mizrahi is a busy man.

Isaac Mizrahi is a busy man. In addition to designing for Liz Claiborne, his own namesake line, and hosting The Fashion Show, he found time to create a collection for QVC. The line, named Isaac Mizrahi Live, will include a bevy of clothing, accessories, footwear, and even housewares. “It will encapsulate Isaac’s design aesthetic, and it’s not going to be too far from what he loves, what he has done in the past, and what he intends to do,” said Marisa Gardini, CEO of Isaac Mizrahi. Price points are still to be determined but we do know that Isaac and his QVC clothes will be coming to a television screen near you in December. You interested?

The Fashion Show Can't Beat Project Runway in the Ratings

I gave Bravo's The Fashion Show the ol' college try, but the show just hasn't pulled me in — and a lot of you aren't sold, either.

I gave Bravo's The Fashion Show the ol' college try, but the show just hasn't pulled me in — and a lot of you aren't sold, either. So you might not be shocked to learn that so far, The Fashion Show hasn't been stepping into Project Runway's big shoes in terms of ratings.

Runway finished off its Bravo run last year averaging four million viewers an episode; thus far, The Fashion Show is averaging under one million viewers. Bravo executives told The New York Times that the ratings are "as good as we can ever hope for" for a new series, but The Fashion Show definitely isn't immediately making up for the loss of Runway to Lifetime.

Granted, Runway started slow, too, with even fewer viewers watching that show's first episodes — but with the help of round-the-clock repeats, the show built an audience and buzz awfully fast. This time around, the ratings aren't picking up steam, and I hardly ever hear anyone talking about The Fashion Show.

Bravo says it's too early to say whether the show could see a second season, but I'm wondering: Why do you think it's not clicking with audiences yet? Is it too similar to Project Runway? Do Isaac Mizrahi and the judges rub people the wrong way? And do you think the show has time to make a name for itself still, or is it already too late?

Are You Still Watching The Fashion Show?

I gave Bravo's The Fashion Show a shot.

I gave Bravo's The Fashion Show a shot. I really did. I watched for two episodes, and while I didn't love it, I still gave it a DVR subscription, hoping it would eventually get better.

But then the episodes just . . . sat there. I realized I was having a hard time remembering the characters' names or if I was rooting for anyone, and I couldn't get up the motivation to see if the show had improved.

So now I'm putting it to you: Are you still watching? Should I be?

Are You Into the Fashion Show?

We're two episodes into Bravo's new reality show, The Fashion Show, and I'm curious — are you watching?

We're two episodes into Bravo's new reality show, The Fashion Show, and I'm curious — are you watching? I said it before and I still think: though the designers aren't as talented as the ones on Project Runway, the show is entertaining and I like the live audience aspect. I'm also into the Harper's Bazaar mini challenges. Are you into it?

Fashion In 50 Seconds 05/11/09 H&M Gets Competitive & More

H&M will put out gothic, fashion forward clothing under a new sub-label called Divided Exclusive.  The premiere episode of Bravo's "The Fashion Show" received solid viewership despite criticism.  Michael Kors showed neon fur as part of his Fall 2009 collection, but his winter fur collection reveals more conservative options.  In a new CNN video series, model Natalia Vodianova shows viewers around her hometown of Moscow.

Buy The Fashion Show's Winning Look!

Did you give Bravo's new show The Fashion Show a chance?

Did you give Bravo's new show The Fashion Show a chance? I did and overall I thought it was amusing. The caliber of designers isn't the most impressive, but I loved the live audience aspect. I'll definitely continue to watch.

If you loved James-Paul's winning look, you can purchase his black Rubik's Cube dress and navy bolero ($199 and $99, respectively) right now. I can see those with avant-garde taste totally rocking it. Be sure to check back to Bravo's shopping section every week because all winning looks will be available to the masses. Neat, huh?

Will You Give Bravo's Fashion Show a Chance?

Bravo's The Fashion Show isn't Project Runway, but for at least the first few episodes, I imagine I'll be constantly comparing the two in my mind.

Bravo's The Fashion Show isn't Project Runway, but for at least the first few episodes, I imagine I'll be constantly comparing the two in my mind. The show premieres tonight, and the format will be pretty familiar to ProjRun fans: a bunch of aspiring designers go through various fashion-related challenges, hoping to win the chance for their line to be sold in stores.

Besides the name, there definitely are a few differences between this show and Runway: Each show has two challenges, Top Chef-style; the audience at each episode's runway show has a say in who goes home; and in the end, viewers will determine the ultimate champion. Isaac Mizrahi is a host and mentor, alongside Kelly Rowland and fashion industry veteran Fern Mallis.

I'm curious to see this show tonight, and I'm hoping it will rise above the level of Runway ripoff. What about you — will you watch?
