Project Runway moving to Lifetime may have seemed like a loss for Bravo at first, but after watching the preview videos for its new reality show, The Fashion Show, that couldn't be further from the truth. The premiere episode debuts next Thursday, May 7 at 10/9 central, so don't miss it. To get yourself prepared, first watch this drama-filled episode recap. Let the fashion fun times begin!
Keith Lissner Launches Bridge Line To Correspond With Bravo Debut
Bravo's upcoming reality show, The Fashion Show, starring Fern Mallis and Isaac Mizrahi, is poised to debut on May 7th and the contestants are preparing for the publicity. Designer Keith Lissner, who will appear on the show, just launched a bridge line this week called Keith by Keith Lissner. Lissner specializes in Marchesa-quality evening wear but wanted to offer potential customers something a little more accessible to match his television debut. The new range offers 12 fantastic cocktail dresses which are available immediately and retail around $250. Our favorites in the gallery below.
FABTV: Bravo Replaces Project Runway With The Fashion Show
The hammer has fallen. The never-ending fight over Project Runway has finally settled in favor of Lifetime. A big loss for Bravo but the network isn't going to cry over spilled milk. Bravo has already announced a new fashion show replacing the former called The Fashion Show.
The reality fashion show rotates around seasoned professionals — compared to Project's newbie designers — and will feature designer Isaac Mizrahi and former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland as the hosts, with Fern Mallis as the judge along with other special guests. The twist? Each episode will feature a fashion show criticized not only by Fern and guest judges, but also by live studio audience members — interesting. The winner of the show will have his/her designs picked up by a major retailer. Interested? Meet the cast of the show and let us know what you think!
Bravo Moves Into Spring With The Fashion Show
No Project Runway? No problem — or at least that's what Bravo's hoping now that it's setting its schedule for Spring. The Fashion Show will attempt to take over the Runway-shaped hole in our hearts when it premieres May 7.
The show is the first of Bravo's new Spring series to premiere; a week later, the latest Real Housewives edition — in New Jersey this time — will start airing May 12. The network also has a third season of Shear Genius and a new photography reality show called Double Exposure on tap for later in the year.
But I'm most curious about The Fashion Show, since it seems to be aiming right for the Runway sweet spot while that show remains in legal limbo. Isaac Mizrahi and Kelly Rowland will host and judge the show, along with judge Fern Mallis and other guest judges from the fashion scene. Unlike Runway, which focuses mostly on aspiring designers, The Fashion Show follows pros. They'll compete in various challenges, with each episode ending with a fashion show and a winner decided by both the judges and a live studio audience. The winner will have his designs manufactured for sale by a major retailer.
Other than the two contestants up for public vote earlier this year, Bravo hasn't announced who will be competing, but I expect we should be meeting the designers soon. For now, to check out a video with Mizrahi, Rowland, and Mallis talking about the show, just read more

Senior vice president of IMG Fashion Fern Mallis will serve as a judge, while designer Isaac Mizrahi and former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland will be judges as well as hosts.
In a nutshell, The Fashion Show will follow professional designers as they compete for a chance to have their designs sold for the mass retail market. These designers will not only be judged by the aforementioned judges, but also by a studio audience. The winners' designs will be made available at a major retail outlet. I look forward to it.
