Lea Michele was pretty in pink (literally) for tonight's red-carpet affair.

Lea Michele was pretty in pink (literally) for tonight's red-carpet affair. The Glee starlet stood out in a bright pink strapless Valentino gown that was sleek on top — and playful on bottom, thanks to the ruffled hemline. In the baubles department, Lea sported purple teardrop earrings and a coordinating cocktail ring. Are you into Lea's pretty-in-pink moment at the SAGs?

People's Choice Awards: Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence (spoiler alert: she wins!) may have skipped the red carpet, but she did not skimp on the glamour.

Jennifer Lawrence (spoiler alert: she wins!) may have skipped the red carpet, but she did not skimp on the glamour. Spotted backstage, the Silver Linings Playbook and Hunger Games actress chose an ultrasparkly Valentino Couture dress for the awards-show occasion. The sheer-boatneck number also featured long, loose sleeves and an asymmetrical tulip skirt hem, neither of which took attention away from her gorgeous stems. To finish, Jennifer wore dark drop earrings, a bold statement ring, and a pair of jewel-soled black pumps that we wouldn't mind getting our hands on. As per usual, this starlet knows how to dress her svelte figure impeccably. Do you agree?

Young Valentino Just Wanted to "Wear Leather Pants and Dance"

Before he met his partner Giancarlo Giammetti, Valentino says he was a freewheeling 26-year-old who just wanted to have a good time.

Before he met his partner Giancarlo Giammetti, Valentino says he was a freewheeling 26-year-old who just wanted to have a good time.

The Daily Telegraph asked the designer to describe a photo of himself working in 1958, when he'd just come back to Rome to set up his first atelier on the Via Condotti. He'd just spent several years in Paris, going to clubs with Karl Lagerfeld and Yves Saint Laurent after class at the Ecole de la Chambre de la Mode. Before heading back to Italy, he worked for designers Jean Desses and Guy Laroche.

"At this time, I just wanted to have fun, drive a sports car, sunbathe at the beach, wear leather pants, and dance," he said. "But not long after this photograph was taken, I went to have drinks with friends and met Giancarlo Giammetti. It was Giancarlo who started to grow the business [he dropped out of studying architecture to look after the financial side of Valentino's fashion house from 1960]. We moved to Via Gregoriana, where we had 100 people in the atelier. Giancarlo decided that I should show my collections in Florence as it was a very important market. It all took off for me when the buyers of the American department stores Bloomingdale's, Saks, Macy's, and Neiman Marcus discovered me there."

Watch: Inside Valentino's Master of Couture Exhibit

"For me it was very important to give the essence of femininity, the essence of glamour, and the essence of haute couture," said Valentino of his legendary body of work.

"For me it was very important to give the essence of femininity, the essence of glamour, and the essence of haute couture," said Valentino of his legendary body of work. "It's like a sculpture that is done in the body of the lady."

In a just released short film, the designer shows off some of the "sculptures" that are on display at London's Somerset House as part of the exhibit Valentino: Master of Couture. Mannequins dressed in some of the designer's most iconic dresses are arranged on either side of a long, wide runway. "It's quite amusing for people to go and do the runway themselves and to watch the clothes seated and being spectators."

Some of the dresses in the show date back to his first collections in the '60s, and some are seriously famous: Pieces worn by Audrey Hepburn and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis are featured, and so is the dress Julia Roberts wore when she won the Oscar for Erin Brockovich in 2001.

"I have been so lucky in my career," Valentino said of how important his clothing has been. "I don't know if I deserve it or not, but I have been very very lucky." Get an inside glimpse at the exhibit, which runs through Mar. 3, 2013, in the video below.

Best of 2012: Handbag of the Year

While a bevvy of bags were debuted this year from covet-worthy labels like Mulberry, Proenza Schouler, and Givenchy, only a select few would achieve It bag status on the arms of celebrities and street-style stars alike.

While a bevvy of bags were debuted this year from covet-worthy labels like Mulberry, Proenza Schouler, and Givenchy, only a select few would achieve It bag status on the arms of celebrities and street-style stars alike. After careful consideration — and a year's worth of evidence — these are the standouts: Fendi's 2Jours structured satchel, a favorite of celebs like Reese Witherspoon, who owns it in tan; Céline's luggage tote, which practically every fashion lover, street-style star, and fashion insider went crazy over; 3.1 Phillip Lim's Pashli bag, which many described as a fusion of the Céline tote and an Hermès Birkin; and Valentino's Rockstud oversize clutch, which style setters like Olivia Palermo and Alexa Chung proudly displayed at Fashion Week. We'd be happy to tote any of the four, and surely they all deserve a spot in this category — but which style warrants the handbag of the year title? Cast your vote now!

    Valentino Showdown: Alexa vs. Olivia

The only fitting way to celebrate Valentino's new London exhibition would be with a celebrity-studded fete — where, of course, everyone is wearing Valentino's gorgeous confections.

The only fitting way to celebrate Valentino's new London exhibition would be with a celebrity-studded fete — where, of course, everyone is wearing Valentino's gorgeous confections. That was at least true for the always-stylish Alexa Chung and Olivia Palermo, both of whom joined Valentino at the opening of Valentino: Master of Couture. Both looks were a testament to the range of Valentino's beautifully feminine collections. While Alexa's look was a playful riff on cocktail couture, balancing a delicate lacy bodice with a bright neoprene skirt and a demure bow-trimmed waist, Olivia's catered to a sexier side. With a semisheer lace skirt and halter neckline, Olivia's dress was equal parts elegant, ladylike, and just a little more sultry than Alexa's sweet confection. Of course, a big part of the results were the finishing touches employed by both style setters. Alexa stuck to her charming aesthetic, adding in a top-handle handbag and a pair of ankle-strap Valentino pumps. Olivia gave her gown eclectic edge with a statement necklace, cropped jacket, and high-wattage heels. Now it's time to weigh in — whose Valentino do you prefer?
