>> Carey Mulligan and Keira Knightley are a red carpet dream: the two have been taking the London Film Festival circuit by storm while promoting their new movie, Never Let Me Go. Yesterday alone, the duo stepped out in Chanel, Proenza Schouler, Vionnet, and Rodarte.

For their photo call, Mulligan donned a mustard yellow Pre-Spring 2011 Proenza Schouler dress paired with black Yves Saint Laurent pumps, while Knightley opted to wear Rodarte — marking the designers' first Spring 2011 piece to hit the red carpet — complemented with brown Christian Louboutin pumps. Later in the evening at the movie's premiere, Mulligan, a Vionnet fan in the past, chose a head-to-toe Spring 2011 look from the label — finishing it off with Giuseppe Zanotti for Vionnet gold wedges — while Knightley, a current Chanel face, picked a pearly Fall 2010 Chanel couture dress and chunky black pumps.

Trend Alert: The Colorblock Frock

The colorblock frock is back and better than ever.

The colorblock frock is back and better than ever. After all, what's not to love about flattering illusions and cool shapes? When donning such a bold pattern, we suggest accessorizing with simple accompaniments. Notice how Cameron Diaz paired her Vionnet confection with a pair of sleek black Casadei pumps and a deco YSL disc ring from House of Lavande. Superb, yes?

You may not be a celebrity who gets her photo taken every second, but let's face it, Facebook has provided enough instances for fabulous photo-ops. That's why this lesson should prove valuable for you. While Jessica Biel looks great in her one-shouldered Vionnet frock and House of Lavande jewels at the The A-Team photocall in Madrid, we love the shot on the right more. That's because the dress looks extra smashing from the side. Same dress, totally different angles. This proves there's a lot you can do to make your most gorgeous outfit more flattering in photos.

Vionnet creative director Rodolfo Paglialunga presented his fifth collection designing for Madeline Vionnet's namesake house, pairing his distinct shapes with some of the bias cut draping for which the French label is known. Paglialunga, who spent years at Prada before being snatched up by Mateo Marzotto—Vionnet's owner since early 2009—designed a collection of rounded hemmed and asymmetric dresses, some with sheer panels and cutouts at the shoulders. Having recently collaborated on a shoe collection with Giuseppe Zanotti and dressed a number of starlets for award seasons, Vionnet is poised to officially make her comeback, after years of trying, this fall.

Giuseppe Zanotti For Vionnet Shoes

Vionnet is a French house at heart, but ever since Matteo Marzotto acquired it in 2009, he's been adding Italian flavor. His latest addition is Italian shoe god Giuseppe Zanotti. "The value of having [Zanotti’s] experience at our disposal is to work on different shapes, to work in the best way with different materials," he said. The 25-piece collection, ranging from $555 to $740, is all about restrained elegance. Leather and silk fabrics fuse. And they are all original, no replicas of old Vionnet footwear. "These are the opposite of the trendy shoes. Nothing heavy, nothing out of proportion, elements from the Thirties and Forties to the present," is how Zanotti describes his work.
