Katie Holmes took a serious turn in the pages of Vogue Spain's August issue. She got decked out in black lace, hats, and other props for the shoot, which is part of promotions for Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. Katie's been sporting a much lighter look lately during her poolside days with Suri and Tom Cruise. We've seen Katie Holmes in a bikini during her frequent visits to Miami, where Tom is filming Rock of Ages. Katie Holmes gushed about Tom in a recent interview, commenting on his stint as a rock star, raising Suri, and her fears. Here's more:

• On her fears: "I'm afraid of raccoons and mice. I get scared of them. And public bathrooms."
• On parenting: "I try to just talk everything through (with Suri) so I'm not missing anything, so I can try to help. As parents you try every day, but it's still all a mystery. You're learning on the job. You love that person so much that you don't want to screw it up."
• On Tom in Rock of Ages: "From my point of view, Tom is doing an incredible job and he is a rock star. I think the movie is going to be a huge hit."
