Watch: Bruce Weber Films Kate Upton For Vogue Germany

The editors at Vogue Germany must have a thing for Americana.

The editors at Vogue Germany must have a thing for Americana. Their latest fashion film, It Had to Be You, was directed by Bruce Weber — who's been writing new editions of the photo book All-American every year for the last 12 years — and stars blond, blue-eyed Kate Upton.

In the film, which takes its name from a Frank Sinatra song, Upton puts on (and takes off) garments from Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, and other designers, while male models Aaron O'Connell, Matthew Vande Vegte, Tim Easton, and Casey Levens compete for her attention. Every element of the video — from the country-club-like setting to the jodhpurs and riding boots Upton dons for the horseback-riding scene — is drenched in classic preppy style. A look at Weber's film below.

Vogue Germany Naked Truth June 2012 Pictures

For its June 2012 issue, German Vogue tapped Peter Lindbergh for a series of black-and-white portraits that reveal — and celebrate — what other magazines often try to hide.

The resulting editorial, cleverly named "The Naked Truth," features German models Toni Garnn and Nadja Auermann, as well as actress Nina Hoss and photographer Donata Wenders, among others, in various states of undress.

Lindbergh's sometimes raw images were taken under the new Vogue Health Initiative, which asks the magazine's 19 editions to portray a healthier, more inclusive image of women in their pages. June issues of 18 of those magazines will be dedicated to health and wellness — American Vogue featured Olympic athletes and French Vogue asked Gisele Bundchen for advice on staying fit. Vogue Japan's healthy issue will bow in July.

Take a look at German Vogue's effort here in the gallery.

Milkmaids and Amish farmers, rejoice!
Alexi Lubomirski Shoots Idyllic Farm Life

Milkmaids and Amish farmers, rejoice! Models Katrin Thormann and Kristy Kaurova bring stark, simple beauty to this editorial shot by photographer Alexi Lubomirski — who also shot Anja and Sasha lovin' it up in the desert — for Vogue Germany. I know the grass is always greener on the other side, but from my gray NYC perspective, that sky is definitely bluer. You can almost smell the first signs of Spring in this crisp, idyllic story. Click the slideshow to see Katrin and Kristy make daily life on the farm, whilst dressed in Bottega Veneta and Valentino no less, seem like rural paradise.

One Gold Balmain Dress Has Graced Six Fall Fashion Covers

>> Balmania is clearly not entirely over. One Miu Miu dress style (two colors) scored at least three fashion magazine covers over the Summer, but in the months since, a Fall 2010 gold Balmain dress — originally worn by Anja Rubik on the runway — is besting the Miu Miu dress twice over, with six covers so far.

The Balmain look was first spotted on Abbey Lee Kershaw's August 2010 Vogue Germany cover, and has since been sported on covers by Cindy Crawford, Anna Dello Russo, and Natalia Vodianova. At least one more cover may be on the way — Anne Hathaway is said to be wearing "sparkly gold" Balmain on Elle UK's December 2010 cover.

Claudia Schiffer Captured Pregnant, Nude by Karl Lagerfeld for Vogue Germany June 2010

>> Of all the models who have been pregnant in the last year or so, it's Claudia Schiffer, who is expecting her third child, a girl, and reportedly due this month, who took the plunge and shot a nude cover.  The image, which appears on Vogue Germany's June 2010 cover, was captured by Karl Lagerfeld and mimics Demi Moore's iconic 1991 Vanity Fair cover."My first Vogue cover twenty years ago was a very special moment and I'd never have thought that doing this edition with Vogue would give me such a similar buzz," Schiffer said.

"It was important to us to show how beautiful it is to be a woman and that you can have a positive attitude towards your body, including when you're expecting."

The entire issue is reportedly filled with all-Claudia editorials, shot by Ellen von Unwerth, who discovered Schiffer, Camilla Akrans, Francesco Carrozzini, and Jan Welters.

If you look up the term femme fatale — the inspiration for this Vogue Germany spread — it says "an alluring and seductive woman whose charms ensnare her lovers in bonds of irresistible desire, often leading them into compromising, dangerous, and deadly situations." Catherine McNeil is it. She's the epitome of it — womanly, rebellious, sexual, and capable of making men moan. She gets more into character by wearing all black and leather Balmain, Nina Ricci, Alexander Wang, and Yves Saint Laurent. It's leather heaven and this Australian model wears it like no other. Warning: some shots are NSFW.
