My Winter Must-Have: Hunter Wellies

We're thrilled to present our favorite Lucky story here on Fab!

I hope you are off enjoying some sun and fun in warmer climates rather than being stuck here in New York in the 20+ inches of snow that yesterday's blizzard dumped on us. This weather calls for hot cocoa, bad TV and a thick blanket. However, if, like me, you are forced to head out into the arctic, there is really only one appropriate footwear of choice: Hunter Wellington boots. Kate Moss made wellies fashionable in 2005 when she sported them at the Glastonbury Music Festival with short-shorts and a tank top (it goes without saying that she is a sartorial genius), and I picked up a pair for myself shortly thereafter.

I've seen people trudging about today in leather boots, which I can only imagine are soaked through, or even worse, sneakers where their pants are as wet as their feet must be. Ladies, throw on your skinny jeans, some thick, woolly socks and get out there. It's really the only way to go.

Hunter Silver Wellington Boot: Love It or Hate It?

Kate Moss made Hunter wellies famous a couple of years ago when she slogged around the mud at Glastonbury in a black pair.

Now, those same boots have been reincarnated in the form of these Hunter Silver Wellington Boot ($125), with a shinier, brighter finish. Would wearing these make you feel shiny and bright on a rainy day?

Rainy-Day Style: Wellies

No one seemed to care for the Marc Jacobs Patent Rain Boots I wrote about yesterday.

No one seemed to care for the Marc Jacobs Patent Rain Boots I wrote about yesterday. Fortunately, there are plenty of other cute options out there as the rainy winter months approach. Whether you're tromping through a wet field or just keeping your feet dry between downtown meetings, waterproof wellies are a stylish way to brave the rain. Over the years, designers have gotten more and more creative with their rain boots, churning out a seemingly infinite number of cute patterns and graphics. Here's a look at some of my favorite styles to get you through the wet months.
