I am absolutely loving loose shorts this year. I have never really been the type — mostly because I'm petite and I thought it would look like I was drowning in them. But actually I learned it's quite the opposite. Wearing loose shorts I look more mature, (which is good since most people think I look much younger than I am), but also because they are more comfortable and much more chic than a pair of poom pooms (translation: mini shorts).

Pairing them is easy — find a tank top and you're set. A long necklace and a pair of chunky sandals completes the look — or go for a pair of flat sandals and a printed tee. The best part — loose shorts are flattering on every body type. So go wild and lose it for loose shorts!

Puffer coats are nothing new, but fashionable puffers have become a hot outerwear trend, especially in cold-weather destinations like New York City. This J.Jill Cocooning Puffer Coat ($160, originally $180) is totally sleek despite its voluminous shape. I especially dig the dramatic collar and suave hue. But, I stumbled upon another puffer that's a bit more trendy and way less pricey. Let's see it.

Something about a motorcycle-style jacket in a luxurious knit fabric is so appealing. This T Tahari Genevieve Jacket ($118) is cool enough to wear to a bar, and sharp enough to sport at work. The asymmetrical zip and leather-trimmed pockets set the tone. The price isn't horrendous, but I found a similar-looking jacket for way less.
