Greta Gerwig Takes Her Turn in Band of Outsiders' Polaroid Campaign

Actress Greta Gerwig is the latest bright young thing to be featured in Band of Outsiders' Polaroid Campaign.

Gerwig posed for the brand's creative director, Scott Sternberg — who recently shot Frank Ocean for the campaign — at the Hollywood Sports Paintball Park in Bellflower, CA, in March. In the photos that have been released so far, Gerwig doesn't get splashed with any paint, but she does look like a lot of fun.

"I love Band of Outsiders. Getting to wear a whole season's worth for the day was a dream," she said. "The shoot felt like an afternoon of playing precocious children in a surreal playground."

Band of Outsiders will post additional shots from the campaign to its Tumblr and Instagram accounts. For now, take a look at the first six here in the gallery.

Fashion Darling Frank Ocean Now Modeling For Band of Outsiders

If his front-row presence at the Fall 2013 shows in Paris wasn't indication enough, it's getting clearer that the industry loves Frank Ocean.

If his front-row presence at the Fall 2013 shows in Paris wasn't indication enough, it's getting clearer that the industry loves Frank Ocean. Band of Outsiders' Scott Sternberg verified that affection by casting Ocean in the brand's Spring 2013 Polaroid campaign.

Ocean posed for the images in looks from the brand's Spring 2013 collection at the Los Angeles Times building earlier this month. Four of Sternberg's shots were released Wednesday, but the brand plans to unveil a total of 23 images on its Instagram and Tumblr accounts in the coming days.

The singer joins a roster of stars including Michelle Williams, Amy Adams, Jason Schwartzman, and Andrew Garfield, among others, who have posed for the campaign in the past. A look at the first batch here in the gallery.

Band of Outsiders Fall 2013

Atari asteroid prints, padded shoulders, and slim-hipped silhouettes dominated Scott Sternberg's Fall 2013 collection for Band of Outsiders.
Band of Outsiders Review | Fashion Week Fall 2013

Atari asteroid prints, padded shoulders, and slim-hipped silhouettes dominated Scott Sternberg's Fall 2013 collection for Band of Outsiders. The vibe was vaguely '80s secretary with a heavy dose of elfin quirk, thanks to the knit turban caps and giant fur stoles that decorated each look.

Kate and Rooney Face Off in a Style Battle (of Sisterly Proportions)

When Kate Mara stepped out at the Lincoln Center last night to promote her new series, House of Cards, she had some support from younger sister and fellow actress Rooney Mara. It was a red-carpet family reunion that provided two very different takes on event dressing. Kate showed off her feminine fashion inclination in a metallic lace Dolce & Gabbana confection, complete with platform heels and a framed clutch, while Rooney served up a more pared-down aesthetic in Band of Outsiders suiting, then finished off her menswear vibe with lace-up boots. We love that both sisters each offer a unique style perspective, so much so that it's hard to picture these sisters raiding each others' closets growing up — with Kate channeling a more ladylike, trendier feel and Rooney staying true to her edgier eventwear. Now, we're turning it over to you. In this sartorial battle, which sister's style gets your vote?

Band of Outsiders Pre-Fall 2013

There's a distinctly Southwestern flair in Scott Sternberg's Pre-Fall 2013 collection for Band of Outsiders.
Band of Outsiders Pre-Fall 2013 | Pictures

There's a distinctly Southwestern flair in Scott Sternberg's Pre-Fall 2013 collection for Band of Outsiders. It makes sense: the designer credited a trip to The Lightning Field, artist Walter De Maria's installation of some 400 lightning rods in the desert of western New Mexico, as what inspired the offering.

The feeling shines through in a number of the collection's dresses and shirts, which feature prints that call to mind Aztec motifs and Navajo blankets. Sternberg even worked a new geometry into one of his bandage skirts, coloring the layers so that they looked like steps.

From there the collection touched two other points of interest for Sternberg: suits paired with shirts were layered over sweaters with a BOY monogram in a nod to his preppy underpinnings, while a series of all-black looks (two of which featured bandage tops) veered off toward eveningwear.

"I was re-watching Manhattan for, like, the 15th time, and that way of dressing that you see in Diane Keaton's character — corduroy suits, button-ups, a certain type of plaid, a high neck—just seemed really fresh, or close to it," Sternberg explained. "Certainly in need of an update, but the nice start of an idea about dressing for the fall." A ladybug print borrowed from a '40s archival piece was placed on a boiler suit, and the plaid dress at left was given a raw-edged hem.

Harry Potter Stars' Modeling Debut: Who's Hotter?

Wizardry and now modeling?

Wizardry and now modeling? Is there anything the hotties of Harry Potter can't do?

The latest Band of Outsiders ad campaign features Polaroid shots of Rupert Grint and Tom Felton — better known as Ron Weasley and Draco Malfoy — in their first modeling gig. The boys are super cute in the Wes-Anderson-esque snaps, donning shades and scarves while they mimic art poses, play cards, and drink sophisticated libations. All that's missing is our other favorite HP eye candy, Matthew Lewis!
