Nicole Richie took some time off her Fashion Star duties for a fun family beach day in Malibu with Joel Madden and their two children, Harlow and Sparrow. Nicole delivered another one of her signature boho-chic outfits, pairing a breezy orange top from her own line Winter Kate with denim cutoffs and strappy sandals. She gave her look an eclectic gypsy feel with a patterned Simone Camille fabric carry-all and polished off her California cool style with a braided updo that's perfect for the beach. Look at Kate in a flurry of motion. A recent trip to Turkey inspired the model to adorn her casual cool look with some exotic bling. These foreign confections are a fun way to liven up any no-fuss ensemble. Too bad we can't hop on our private jet (right?) and nab some for ourselves. Let's see what we can find on the main land!

Who Wore it Better? Diane von Furstenberg Printed Maxi Dress

Maybe maxi dresses really will catch on big time.

Maybe maxi dresses really will catch on big time. They do capture that bohemian Summer vibe oh so well. Miss Molly Sims debuted the bold dress at Diane von Furstenberg's dinner I attended back in February, and Garcelle Beauvais Nilon selected it for a Saks Fifth Avenue event yesterday. They both wisely chose bare necklines and upswept 'dos, paving the way for the dress to make the main statement. It fits both of them like a dream, but I'm liking the shoulder cutouts on Molly's a tad bit more for that extra flash of skin. Who do you think wore it better?

Fabcon: Zoe Kravitz

For some, fashion is in the blood.

For some, fashion is in the blood. I don't think there could be a better representative of that idea than Zoe Kravitz.

With free spirited bohemian mother Lisa Bonet and cool rocker Lenny Kravitz as proud papa, we should have expected Zoe to turn out the way she did. A rising style star, she flawlessly transitions from effortless, slightly mussed glamor to street chic, and she somehow ends up looking sultry every time. She even had the confidence to recently chop her locks into a boyish pixie cut, which took a little getting used to, but now I'm loving that she set herself apart from the rest of Hollywood's It girls.

I'm definitely going to keep my keen eye on her for a healthy dose of rock chick inspiration. And — this just in — proud papa Lenny will be outfitted in Gucci for his upcoming European tour. Maybe Zoe will get some Gucci goods too!

Fabcon: Anita Pallenberg

Oh, what I would give to travel back to the '60s and be a fly on the wall when Anita Pallenberg, once common-law wife of Rolling Stones' Keith Richards, ruled the rock 'n roll scene.

Oh, what I would give to travel back to the '60s and be a fly on the wall when Anita Pallenberg, once common-law wife of Rolling Stones' Keith Richards, ruled the rock 'n roll scene. It was a largely male-dominated industry, yet Anita had a unique musical influence over the band.

Born on January 25, 1946 in Rome, Italy, Anita was a model, actress, and has more recently become a fashion designer. But nothing makes her more well-known than her non-musical connection to the Stones. Besides having three children with Keith, Anita was romantically involved with band member Brian Jones, and also rumored to have hooked up with Mick Jagger. Given Anita's wild ways, I wouldn't be surprised.

While Anita's partying ways are intriguing, I'm more drawn to her unfussy boho style. Before the Siennas and the Kates (she's actually friends with Kate), Anita epitomized the hippie-chic style. Everything we wear now, she's already worn: stacked bangles, fur coats, gladiator sandals, wide belts . . . Because of her sass, courage, and style, she carved herself a place in the world. And what a rockin' place!
