They're on different sides of the world — London and New York — but Kate Hudson and Katie Holmes seem to be on the same fashion wavelength right now. Both beauties opted to enrich their denim with a bit of camel, and the results are super fab. Kate sported a Pringle of Scotland poncho sweater with lightwash jeans for '70s cool, while Katie worked denim on denim with a grandpa-chic twist. Step inside to get a closer look at how these ladies did denim with camel, and re-create the look with like pieces you have in your closet.
Flawless Seasonal Combo: Camel + Denim
Some things are meant to go together — peanut butter and chocolate, pumpkin pie and whipped cream. The same can be said of this classic pairing: camel and denim. Just a glimpse of Crystal Renn showing off the color combo in Vogue Germany or Vogue's Meredith Melling Burke's effortlessly crafted street style (with trench in hand), and we fall even more in love with it. It exudes both timelessness — thanks to those rich camel tones — and cool — thanks to casual, easy denim pieces. We love both textures and fabrics on their own, but you have to admit, there's something special about them coming together. Now, click through to peruse and shop a few of our favorites to get the look.

Inspired Style: Jennifer Lopez's Luxe Leopard and Camel
Jennifer Lopez never shies away from going glam. So, it's no surprise to see her stealing the show behind the judges' table on American Idol. It's a look that nails the on-trend — and one of our favorite color duos! — without trying too hard. Just pair a fitted camel shift with a pair of fabulous, leopard-print heels ($395), like Lopez's Brian Atwood booties. Surprisingly low-maintenance, right? Now add a little sparkle with a cocktail ring, or two, and a pair of jeweled chandelier earrings ($180) for a polished look that doesn't take a lot to pull off.
Inspired Style: Denim Does Ladylike Camel
Erin Wasson's Elle Spain spread was amazing, but there was one shot in particular that caught my attention. You're looking at it — the denim shirt lends kick-back cool to the full camel skirt, while the ladylike pumps add a dose of sweet. Now it's time for us to re-create this look with our personal styles in mind. If a full skirt is too dramatic for you, opt for a mini version ($70). Then throw on a denim shirt — and variation of color works — a pair of pointy pumps, and you're ready for your closeup!

There isn't a trend that lends more class than Fall's favorite color: camel. Color Spotting: Tenacious Tan

Thanks in part to Phoebe Philo at Celine and Hannah MacGibbon at Chloe, tan plays a prevalent role in this Fall's wardrobe staples. Wear it head-to-toe for a modern monochromatic palette, as in Zara's September lookbook, above left, or style one statement piece — like the Isabel Marant leather biker jacket seen above — with bright red accompaniments for maximum pop.
Left to right: Zara's September 2010 lookbook, Isabel Marant Keni Biker Jacket ($2,395), Mulberry Alexa Sparkle Tweed Leather Bag ($1,250), Opening Ceremony Western Mules ($440), Chloé Knitted Wool Skirt ($490)
