Celeb Style: Zoe Saldana

Zoe Saldana rocked the red carpet last night at The Losers premiere in LA wearing a sexy suede black Balmain dress and Cesare Paciotti sandals. We love how the deep v-neck adds major drama, while gold accompaniments — via a studded belt, chunky rings, earrings, and a Judith Leiber box clutch — inject a luxe touch. What a sight.

Ohne Titel Fall 2010: Nothing But Net

>> Ohne Titel has the industry rapt: one look at the front row — scattered with the likes of Suzy Menkes, Hamish Bowles, Cecilia Dean, Cathy Horyn, Stefano Tonchi, and Carine Roitfeld in her first appearance of the week — is a testament to that.  But this season, Alexa Adams and Flora Gill were ready to win over more than just the editorial crowd; they focused on keeping prices down, producing wearable pieces, and growing their clientele.

Starting with "nineteenth century shapes and details" and adding their own utilitarian twist, out came streamlined knits, net skirts, and velvet jackets in moss green, gray, and black. Stylist Alastair McKimm helped the designers pair everything with patchwork tights and strapped wedge boots, the latter part of their ongoing collaboration with Cesare Paciotti.

If Flora and Alexa are looking for more fans, they definitely appear to have won over their models: Maryna Linchuk made her first Fashion Week appearance at the show, dancing as she entered the backstage area after walking; Constance Jablonski, too, gave a happy little shimmy after her runway loop.

2009 American Music Awards: Alicia Keys

Alicia Keys dazzled the LA crowds with her galactic Armani Privé frock — lovin' the jeweled bodice.

Alicia Keys dazzled the LA crowds with her galactic Armani Privé frock — lovin' the jeweled bodice. Her accessories of choice are matching blue Cesare Paciotti sandals, large cluster earrings, and silver bangles. What's your verdict?

Fab Ad: Cesare Paciotti, Fall '09

Cesare Paciotti's ads are always skin-baring and action-packed.

Cesare Paciotti's ads are always skin-baring and action-packed. Remember the one with Anja Rubik cycling? Ouch. Now it's Bianca Balti's turn to deliver, and by deliver I mean simultaneously be desirable, cover up inappropriate body parts, and show off the accessories. For Fall, instead of actually carrying the bags and wearing the shoes, Bianca is mostly posing alongside them. The problem with that is, I find myself staring at her and not the fashion items. I guess that's what you get for hiring such a drop-dead model. What do you think?

Ohne Titel's Fall 2009 Understated Spectacular Confirms They Are Ones To Watch

>> It was a three-tone show for Ohne Titel this morning: black, gray, or brown, but it contrasted quite nicely with the light, bright white space; the only pops of color in the room came from the varicolored macaroons being served beforehand.  Quite the show for the newly-minted 2009 Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation winners.  The model cast was excitingly blue-chip — Liu Wen!

Constance Jablonski! Lakshmi Menon! Eniko Mihalik! — it must be those unzipped knee-exposing stretch pants they're all gunning to take home; that and the over-the-knee, ruffled-top, lace-up back leather boots Alexa Adams and Flora Gill did in conjunction with Cesare Paciotti.

The designers say they went "darker" with "armorial" accents this season; along with the tight-fitting knit bondage dresses, the pieces fitted with studs, what looked like washers, and other assorted metallic elements organized in a pattern that reminded me of an art deco skyscraper, stood out.  Also of note: Alastair McKimm, who styled Alexander Wang last season and this season, also styled this show.

I Want This Wardrobe: Gossip Girl, Serena van der Woodsen

While last night's episode of Gossip Girl was filled with Snowflake Ball fashions, I chose to feature a more attainable ensemble.

While last night's episode of Gossip Girl was filled with Snowflake Ball fashions, I chose to feature a more attainable ensemble. Serena van der Woodsen opted to make her boy toy swoon with an Autumn-friendly ensemble. Staying warm and stylish, the Queen Bee wore J Brand skinny jeans, a Diane Von Furstenberg printed top, and Cesare Paciotti boots. A sumptuous leather Valentino jacket and White and Warren cashmere scarf completes her cozy chic outfit. Oh, I can't forget her gray Celine bag — I die.

Ouch! Cycling and Fashion Don't Mix

I know cycling is all the rage, but the Fall/Winter ads for for Italian shoe designer Cesare Paciotti have got me in a tizzy.

I know cycling is all the rage, but the Fall/Winter ads for for Italian shoe designer Cesare Paciotti have got me in a tizzy. Too many times now have I cringed upon viewing these ads. What I love about the ads is the crisp colors and the lovely Anja Rubik. And yes, they are provocative, in typical Paciotti ad fashion.

But when did body suits ever come back into vogue? I remember wearing these in junior high with baggy jeans and a flannel tied around my waist — mind you — the thong portion was completely covered. As it should be! Then, put the model atop a bicycle? I just don't get it. I have completely forgotten she is supposed to be modeling shoes. All I see is a pale ass, pardon my French. I love you Anja and Cesare but this is just malapropos imagery. Can I get an amen?

Trend Alert: Acid Brights

Many a trend are inspired by street style.

Many a trend are inspired by street style. Hold on because brights are passe and acid brights are in full force. From the NY club kids of yore to the British invasion of Boombox, these colors scream fashion anarchy. It's time to decide: are you ready to screw being a wallflower and shout it out loud? Channel your ex-raver self (guilty!), dormant party girl, or closet glam rocker, and dance the night away in these acid brights.
