Whether they were nominees, honored guests, or just friends of those in the industry, the attendees dressed up in some of the best American fashion available. Case in point: Garance Doré wore a green Derek Lam dress, while Jason Wu tweeted that he would debut pieces of his Resort 2013 collection at the event.

>>You've seen the pictures from Wednesday evening's event — now here's a video that will make you really wish you were there. Put together by Swarovski — who is underwriting the awards for the 11th year in a row now — the video reads like a who's who of the industry. Among those who make cameos? Well, there's Carolina Herrera, Johan Lindeberg, Narciso Rodriguez, Rachel Roy, Rebecca Minkoff, Peter Som, Phillip Lim, Diane von Furstenberg, Pamela Love, Stefano Tonchi, Virginia Smith, Garance Doré, and Scott Schuman — just to name a few. There's also lots of head-nodding, air-kissing, champagne-drinking, and general good times being had all around.

Then and Now: The Summer Menswear Suit
One of our favorite looks from last night's CFDA Awards was Leelee Sobieski looking crisp and refreshing in a cream and white menswear suit, accessorizing the masculine look with only a sexy red lip. Her oft-publicized resemblance to Helen Hunt brought us back to 1991, when Helen Hunt donned an oversized cream menswear suit for a play opening. Oh, how the tailoring has changed in the last 20 years. Leelee's suit was designed by husband Adam Kimmel, and we love the slim jacket paired with slouchier, high-waisted pants. Helen Hunt still managed to look adorable despite the monster-sized shoulders (remember she was fresh off the '80s). What are some of your favorite Summer suit looks?

Jason Wu, Alexander Wang, and More Celebrate After the CFDA Awards
After yesterday's CFDA Awards was the afterparty atop the Meatpacking District's Standard Hotel. Many A-listers like Gwyneth Paltrow and Sarah Jessica Parker called it a night after the main event, but other revelers continued their good times. Irina Lazareanu was one of the first to bound in with friends like Carmen Kass. Jason Wu and Alexander Wang, meanwhile, held court at the bar. Alexander passed out kisses to celebrate his Swarovski award for accessory design, but he grabbed one special friend to steal a moment of rest admiring the space's impressive city views.
Elsewhere, Jamie Bochert made the rounds with her fiance Michael Pitt, J. Crew's Jenna Lyons posed for umpteen photos, and Alexis Bledel cozied up to Dree Hemingway. Many more models and designers mingled around the room including Donna Karan, Christopher Bailey, Liya Kibede, and Rag & Bone's David Neville.
Marc Jacobs, Rag and Bone, Alexander Wang, and Alexis Bittar Take Home CFDA Awards

Jessica Biel, Dakota Fanning, Rachel Weisz, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Gwyneth Paltrow joined New York designers and the Council of Fashion Designers of America at Alice Tully Hall last night for the 2010 CFDA awards. As for the evening's big winners, Marc Jacobs took home the Womenswear Designer of the Year, Marcus Wainwright and David Neville picked up Menswear Designer of the Year for Rag & Bone, and Alexis Bittar won Accessory Designer of the Year. Swarovski Awards for emerging talent went to Jason Wu for womenswear, Alexander Wang for accessory design, and Richard Chai for menswear.
Michael Kors, who dressed Gwyneth Paltrow in custom Michael Kors, received the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award; Christopher Bailey for Burberry received the International Award; Vogue’s Tonne Goodman took home the Eleanor Lambert Award; and Iman was honored with the Fashion Icon Award. For the second year in a row, Ralph Lauren scored the people's choice award. Click below for photos from the event at Lincoln Center.

CFDA Awards: Sarah Jessica Parker
Sarah Jessica Parker brought major luxury to the CFDA scene in her Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall gown. The vibrant pinks and purples, not to mention that airy, flowy train, are out of this world. Alexander would have been proud. As for her accessories, SJP borrowed vintage jewels from Madison Avenue jeweler Stephen Russell. Do you love it?
