We’re no wallflowers when it comes to fashion, so when we spotted colorblocking all over the Spring runways, we were duly thrilled. Whether it was saturated silhouettes at Jil Sander and Gucci or acid-like hues at Proenza Schouler and Christopher Kane, these bold brights caught our sartorial eye — and held our attention. Accordingly, we’ve styled mixed-and-matched brights, a multihued skirt, and contrasting neons for three warm-weather ensembles that will get you excited to leave your basic black behind! Watch now to see how to style your colorblocked pieces all Spring long!

Christopher Kane Runway Fall 2011 London Fashion Week

These colorful touches served as vibrant, unexpected trim to a slew of sexy black dresses as well as scale-like sequin frocks. To see the whole collection, watch our complete coverage now!
Christopher Kane Teams Up With J Brand For Capsule Denim Collection

>> Christopher Kane, along with four other emerging London-based designers, teamed with J Brand to release a limited edition denim collection last September (pictured above, Kane's contribution center). The 5 X 5 project, as it was called, must have done well for both parties, because Kane is back again, partnering with J Brand to create a "jeanswear" capsule collection, using "denim and other fabrications that J Brand's offering encompasses" as part of his Resort 2012 collection.
It sounds like the partnership is expected to span further than one season. “We have the potential to grow a very strong denim business,” says Kane. And J Brand CEO Jeff Rudes echoes: "We are delighted to be working with Christopher to build a long term viable denim business with him."
While the 5 X 5 project was only available in five select British department stores, the upcoming collection, which is expected to hit stores in late 2011, will be sold to both Kane and J Brand stockists. As Anna Wintour points out: "[The collection] is obviously going to help [Kane's] visibility in the States. He's a young man with a huge future ahead of him."
