OK, so you're on vacation and chilling by the pool. However, you have to make that necessary hike to the bar to get an icy cold margarita refill. It's blistering hot outside, so naturally, the thought of walking around in your scanty bikini sounds mighty tempting. However, your morals kick in and you find yourself shuffling around for some decency. Instead of throwing on the per usual denim cutoffs and tank, opt for one of these cool cover-ups instead. It's ventilation at its best and will keep you looking beach tempting. The best part? Layer some of these pieces with a simple slip so they can go double duty off the beach and into the streets. Check out our top 15 picks now!
There's all this talk of bikinis, great, but what about cover-ups? I think it's just as important to look good on your walk to the beach as it is to look hot in the water. So, let's scour the web for the chicest cover-ups out there — tunics, sarongs, shorts, etc. Once you've chosen your favorite, build an entire beach-chic ensemble around it with jewels, bags, and so on.
I'll start you off with these Stella McCartney Gold Metallic Sandals ($155, originally $255) because they have luxury written all over them.

Marc by Marc Jacobs is known for its quirky and kooky designs. For example, this Miss Marc Bandeau Cover Up Dress ($137), is interesting, to say the least. Personally, it's too childish for my taste and I'm not digging the buckle halter strap. However, Miss Marc is cute. Would you wear this to the beach?

When you're wearing a plain ensemble, why not spruce things up with an exotic cover up? Just look to Nicole Richie (left) for inspiration. Her black tank and jeans combo is far from boring thanks to the colorful addition of her embellished, sheer cover up.
Word to the wise: You don't have to travel to the far East Indies to find this look. Check out your local flea markets to find the cheapest and best selection.
Now that we're in swimwear mode I spotted some items in your Fab Finds that could serve as cool cover ups. I really feel that just because you're running to the loo or ordering some Coronas from the bar, there is no reason to just throw on an old something for a little coverage. There is every reason to throw on a new, cute and flowy something for that extra coverage because you never know who you might pass on the way. I prefer a feminine dress or tunic in a fun color - they still let some skin peek through.
The Fab Finder of the week is shoeaholic! I just love this yellow tunic she found. Every week the Fab Finder I announce Monday morning will receive either a TeamSugar or FabSugar baby tee shirt. I thoroughly enjoy perusing your Fab Finds every week, so dare to be a Fab Finding trendsetter and you just might win a Sugar tee!
