Wow, the rumors were true. Promptly following Esteban Cortazar's exit from Ungaro, the fashion house has tapped Lindsay Lohan as its artistic adviser, alongside new chief designer Estrella Archs. Apparently, Ungaro's chief executive, Mounir Moufarrige, was looking to add excitement to the brand, and no doubt hiring Lindsay has definitely caught everyone's attention. "Odds are it could work," said Moufarrige. “I think the noise level around Lindsay will be very, very big." Lohan and Archs are set to debut their first collection for Ungaro at Paris Fashion Week in October. Thoughts?
A Look We Love: Cobalt and Gray

Before his departure, Esteban Cortezar left us with an amazing Fall '09 collection for Emanuel Ungaro. Check out how the designer geniusly integrated cobalt blue for Fall by pairing it with gray. So sleek, so fun.

Fall Glimpse: Drape Escape
Draping is a classic fashion technique — we can learn this from studying Madame Grès and the Romans. This classic has been rejiggered, reworked, revitalized for Fall. From dramatic Givenchy draping (left) to delicate Wu draping, I'm going to have to plan on a drape escape come cozy time. From midnight hues to creamy ones, drapery is decidedly romantic; the way it moves furthers any woman's erotic appeal. Source: Getty
Final Verdict: Ungaro and Esteban Part Ways
For a second there we thought the house of Ungaro and its creative director Esteban Cortazar might patch things up. Today it has been reported that they have parted ways due to a mutual agreement. The label, owned since 2005 by high-tech entrepreneur Asim Abdullah, plans on naming a successor soon, thought there is no word yet on who that will be. Considering Ungaro's chief executive officer Mounir Moufarrige once replaced Karl Lagerfeld with a 25-year-old Stella McCartney as head designer at Chloé in 1997, it might be an unexpected choice.

Celeb Style: Emmy Rossum
It's official. We have a girl crush on Emmy Rossum. At the LA premiere of Orphan, the actress showed off a stellar creation from Phi. This time, she kept the rad black ruching to a minimum and wore a black and white paisley print confection — I love the high neckline and structured shape. For footwear, the actress donned her favorite pair of Stuart Weitzman platform sandals. What a severe yet sweet look.

Trend Alert: Rad Black Ruching
What's rad? Ruching, that's what. It's an ancient sewing technique, and it's flattering powers are undeniable. Especially when it comes to a sexy, hot LBD with rad black ruching. If you don't already have one of these quick fix, every-occasion frocks, I suggest you consider. Look at how stunning Emmy Rossum looks in her architectural Emanuel Ungaro; she doesn't show a lot of skin, but it's somehow seriously sexy. OK, her black gladiator Stuart Weitzman sandals may have something to do with it too . . .
>> Esteban Cortazar, Ungaro Still Working Things Out —Despite rumors of creative differences and the serving of a lawsuit, Esteban Cortazar and Ungaro, who were expected to part ways, are still attempting to patch things up. Cortazar showed up to the CFDA Awards earlier this month, escorting Arlenis Sosa Pena in Ungaro and saying he was still with the company; further evidence came when the designer appeared at the Ungaro men's show last Thursday and confirmed that he is working on a pre-collection: "For now I am here." He exchanged a greeting with Ungaro CEO Mounir Moufarrige, who he has been at odds with, and when asked if Cortazar was back, Moufarrige was more evasive: "He's here," he said, pointing at the runway.
