In honor of our stars and stripes, Erin Wasson, who we had the pleasure of chatting with recently, gives us a taste of the American country in denim, camo, and cowboy boots. The all-American "Texas Story" — shot by David Mushegain in Elle Italia's August issue — features Erin as the big star of small-town America. Hard to resist the call to kick back in cutoffs, eclectic vintage, and layered knits. It's Summer USA, a reminder to celebrate the small things — think running errands in Native American-inspired ponchos and studded cowboy boots. Click through and pay homage to the American dreamer and the best of big, Texan-inspired style.

Fab Exclusive, Part 2! Erin Wasson Is Happy Getting Sand in Her Crap
Did you hear? Fab met Erin Wasson last week at Azalea Boutique in San Francisco when she was in town promoting her latest Low Luv collection. First she preached ditching trends and sticking to your signature style, but there's way more. Her Summer style is entirely no-fuss, she gravitates towards basic bikinis, and she likes to diversify her modeling career by mixing high-fashion and commercial work. Hear it all in her own words below.

FabSugar: What are some of your Summer essentials?
Erin Wasson: I'm that beach bum that's always on the beach, I don't need a towel, I'm happy to get sand in all of my crap. I'm not the girl that puts on a frilly little dress to go down to the pool. When I go on vacation, and I go to Hawaii quite often, literally everything I need can fit in a bag this size [pointing to her Alexander Wang tote]. A white t-shirt, a pair of denim cut-off shorts, a pair of flip-flops, a couple bathing suits.

Erin Wasson Foresees Doing a New Clothing Line in Six Months
>> Now that Erin Wasson's RVCA split has been confirmed, she's focusing on her Low Luv jewelry line — which she promoted at Azalea boutique in San Francisco last week. After explaining to Refinery 29 where the line's name came from — "Anybody who's going to scream 'I love you!' at the top of their lungs, I'm leery about. I want to be whispered I love you to. It's love on the down-low. Jewelry exchanged as heirlooms in families is an exchange of love. And it's less disposable than clothing" — she talked with StyleList about the probability of another clothing line: "Anything's possible. I like to keep a bit of mystery. I'm not ready to read my entire book to everyone right now. There are still a lot of chapters being written. And I want to make sure that [a clothing line is] right."
Fab Exclusive! Erin Wasson Says Ditch Trends, Stick to Your Signature Style

The model-slash-designer totally meshed with the city's relaxed vibe but simultaneously stood out thanks to her stunning presence. We had a Fab chat about everything from her super laid-back Summer style to her modeling work with J.Crew, from editing down your closet to her future projects. William Rast For Target!
We sure didn't see this one coming: Target inked a deal with William Rast to design a collection for its next designer collaboration series. The collection, founded by Justin Timberlake and Trace Ayala, will include both women's and men's clothing. "The collection for Target was inspired by the essence of the William Rast brand — the iconography of biker culture and American denim heritage," said Colin Dyne, from William Rast. Price points are still under wraps, but it's sure to be way more affordable than the brand's namesake $95 to $595 collection. The line hits stores and online on Dec. 19.

Erin Wasson's Final Collection For RVCA
After swirling rumors, it has been confirmed that Erin Wasson will no longer be designing for RVCA. Wipe that tear off your face because she still has her other line, Low Luv. For Fall '10, her final design collaboration, you'll find more signature grungy cool pieces, including a white long-sleeve maxidress, skinny jeans, loose-fitting sweaters, and off-shoulder tees. Proceed to check out a few items from Erin Wasson's final collection for RVCA.
