Although she started as a fashion stylist, these days Estee Stanley is probably best known for her interiors. What started out as decorating advice and favors for celebrity friends blossomed into a very busy second career as Estee took on more and more home renovations and redesigns. Now clients seek her out when they are looking for her signature style of casual, practical elegance, with a nod to European sensibilities. As co-founder of home decor collection HomeMint (with friend Justin Timberlake, ahem), Estee Stanley has ensured that her fantastic eye is available to everyone, not just her celebrity clients.

We sat down with Estee for a tour of the project closest to her heart — the house that she shares with her family in LA's Hancock Park. Keep reading to find out why she believes in waiting for true (decor) love, what she really thinks about kids' rooms, and where she gets her design inspiration.

Stylist and designer Estee Stanley has worked with some of the biggest names in Hollywood, styling red-carpet looks for Jessica Biel, Lea Michele, Ashley Olsen, and Penélope Cruz, designing homes for Amanda Peet and Rashida Jones, and launching awesome site HomeMint with Justin Timberlake. So what does a woman known for her sophisticated, subtle, and always stylish designs create for her own children's rooms? "Being a designer, I've always found that everything for nurseries was so childlike . . . princesses and weird animal wallpaper," Estee says. "That's not my aesthetic. You can have a cute child's room without it looking like you're in Disneyland!" Kid-friendly but mature, the spaces Estee designed for her son, Teddy, 4, and daughter, Flora, 1, feature her design hallmarks of muted tones, artistic details, and high-end pieces mixed with vintage finds. Celebrity stylists Cristina Ehrlich and Estee Stanley, whose clients include Penelope Cruz, Nicole Richie, and Jessica Biel, are set to collaborate with Coach on a limited-edition collection of bags.

The duo, whose contemporary line Miss Davenporte has been wildly successful among PYTs, has revealed that the Miss Davenporte for Coach collection includes one smaller evening bag and one large hobo. The smaller bag comes in metallic, colored leather, navy lace, or dark beads, and is priced from $398-$698; meanwhile, the large hobo comes in brown leather and retails for $1,200. The bags are selling exclusively at Ron Herman stores.
