Grease was the word at Gucci. Or at least, that's where my imagination went. A bold collection that's a bit 80s, a bit 50s - this is what Rizzo would be wearing if she were real life today. From the leather jackets to the origami pleating on cropped jackets, tops, and skirts, Frida Giannini meshed the classic with the new very well. The prints were fantastic; just when I thought I'd seen every black and white graphic print known to man, Gucci squiggles, plaid-on-plaid, and radical flowers showed me up. With bursts of coral and canary, the collection was topped off with cool black patent accessories, notably, very covetable shoes.
I'll take everything but the over-fabricated one-shoulder gowns and the high waisted slouchy skinnies!
