So when Gilt.com — the flash-sale site that features some of the highest-end products for babies and adults (think Jacadi and Ses Petites Mains for kids and Chloé and Missoni for Mom) — announced that they are launching their own apparel line for babies and kids, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. And now that I have, I don't want to put it down. The line is currently made up of 17 adorable styles of supersoft pima cotton onesies ($40), footies ($44), and two-piece gift sets ($58) that are so scrumptious, I couldn't wait to try them on a baby. Given the quality of the pieces and the fun, modern styles, I look forward to them expanding into youth styles later this year. Mark your calendars — Little Gilt will launch on Sept. 17 with its own special sale and then move to GiltKids.com's Baby Boutique, so members can access the pieces daily.
A new partnership has just been formed that will allow sample sale fans to get their fix from the comfort of their own home! The Council of Fashion Designers of America has joined with Gilt.com to give CFDA members — think Marc Jacobs, Nanette Lepore — the option of doing their sample sales online.
Already, Marchesa, Rachel Roy, and Bulgari have teamed with Gilt Groupe's Gilt.com for the site's one-day designer-specific online sales, and Behnaz Sarafpour and Sari Gueron have upcoming sales in the works. Gilt Groupe offers 3-4 online sales per week — for sale access, you must be a referred member, but once accepted, there are no fees involved. Everyone loves a sample sale, right?!
