>> Word went around recently that after Halston's board ousted the brand's CEO Bonnie Takhar, Halston president and chief creative officer Sarah Jessica Parker was upset. But from what she told Elle in its January 2011 issue, it sounds like she's committed to the brand: “I said, ‘Please know this now: I will never do this for a title. I will never dip in and out of this. I’ll do it like everything else I’ve ever done. I’ll be involved down to the splitting of the atom.’” As for her design skills: “I might not have the language; I can’t always tell you the exact blend of a fabric, but I figure it out.” [Elle]
Sarah Jessica Parker Talks Halston and Baby Style in Elle
We have to wait until Dec. 15 to pick up Elle's January issue with Sarah Jessica Parker on the cover, but here's a quick sneak peek of what's to come. The stylin' actress/designer/mom has many roles these days — she's often spotted running around NYC with her kids in comfy clothes — but for her latest gig, she left her home life to play dress-up. Then she sat down to discuss her position at Halston, her design skills, and her baby girl's style. Read more below.
On her reaction to being offered the position of president and chief creative officer at Halston and Halston Heritage: "I kept saying, 'You understand, by offering this you are going to be criticized?' It took me a long time to say yes."
On taking her role at Halston very seriously: "I said, 'Please know this now: I will never do this for a title. I will never dip in and out of this. I'll do it like everything else I've ever done. I'll be involved down to the splitting of the atom.'"
On her design skills: "I might not have the language; I can't always tell you the exact blend of a fabric, but I figure it out."
On her daughter Tabitha's style: "She's crazy for bows; she wants her head covered in them."

Halston CEO Bonnie Takhar Reportedly Ousted by Board, Leaving Brand President Sarah Jessica Parker Upset
>> Upheaval at Halston, once again: CEO Bonnie Takhar, who has been with the brand since relaunch in 2007, is exiting the company. Creative differences are reportedly the reason Takhar was let go.
Sarah Jessica Parker, who joined the house in January, taking an equity stake and the role of president and chief creative officer, was reportedly upset after learning that the Halston board requested Takhar leave the company. A source told Page Six: "Sarah and Bonnie had a meeting on Friday in Halston's offices to discuss problems with the latest collection. Sarah has been a strong supporter of Bonnie for a very long time, and has been the sole voice supporting her against the board and shareholders. She has been fighting this for a very long time. She believed in Bonnie. She was emotional and upset because this finally came to a head."
Halston board member Harvey Weinstein, meanwhile, released a statement, "Sarah Jessica is a huge supporter of Bonnie's, but it was time to change direction. It was the rest of the board that made the decision. No one was more steadfast to Bonnie than Sarah Jessica."

SJP Debuts Lori Goldstein for Fred Leighton Necklace
We're thrilled to present our favorite InStyle story here on Fab!
Sarah Jessica Parker was on hand for the unveiling of Halston’s Spring 2011 collection last night (and modeling it head-to-toe) and while we loved her red-hot look, it was her necklace we couldn’t take our eyes off of! Parker complemented her jersey dress with a white jade necklace with precious and vintage-painted wood beads from Lori Goldstein for Fred Leighton. The necklace is part of a 25-piece collection that the super-stylist designed for Fred Leighton. The collaboration, which debuted on Fashion’s Night Out, features one-of-a-kind bead necklaces comprised of faceted diamonds, Tahitian pearls, vintage glass, sapphires, hand-painted Czechoslovak wooden beads and a Victorian crystal heart. The line ranges from $3,500 to $25,000 and is the fine jeweler’s first-ever collaboration.

Spring 2011 New York Fashion Week: Halston
A serious downpour wasn't able to slow down the stampede of fashionistas who turned out in force to see yesterday's Halston presentation during Fashion Week. Twenty-four models were perched around and upon wooden installations, showcasing the new offerings from the house's designer Marios Schwab. True to the brand, there was a '70s vibe going on — plenty of jersey dresses, both long and short, in white, black, tan, and coral, with Grecian draping and gold hardware complements. And the colors were picked to enhance a certain mood of "bare Summer skin, tinted lightly by sun, showing silkily through cut-away backs and fronts and sides and middles."
Marios's collection did make one think of warm weather and the possible places to wear one of his dresses — not much of a stretch to imagine someone shimmying into one of his gowns for a night of decadence at a club in Ibiza. Those restrictions evidently don't apply to the brand's chief creative officer, Sarah Jessica Parker, who managed to make one of the shorter coral numbers work despite the cloudy and wet weather.
