H&M has tapped Beyoncé to be the face of its Summer campaign. And with her Mrs. Carter world tour under way, today marks the simultaneous launch of the singer's H&M commercial, too. The video, along with the campaign images, show Beyoncé lounging on the beach in the Bahamas, looking (not surprisingly) amazing in a flurry of H&M swimwear and beachy cover-ups. But here's the best part: the commercial also features her new song, "Standing on the Sun," which feels (and sounds) just as Summer-perfect as the pieces she's wearing. H&M is going full steam ahead with its eco-conscious efforts in 2013. Following the launch of its global recycling program and more casual Conscious Collection, the retailer will be furthering its sustainability message with the release of its Conscious Exclusive line, featuring sustainable red-carpet-worthy options for the party season ahead. "I love how this collection has pure glamour and style, and is made from more sustainable materials," said Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M's head of design. "It's natural to think about sustainability, and to have it at the heart of our work." The collection features womenswear and menswear options ranging from embellished cocktail dresses to three-piece tuxedos made from eco-friendly textiles like organic cotton and recycled polyester. The green carpet at last night's H&M and Global Green USA pre-Oscars party showed off another helping of amazing party looks thanks to the impeccably dressed celebrity crowd. Never one to shy away from daring looks, Miranda Kerr hit the (faux) grass with husband Orlando Bloom wearing a printed crisscross, cutout dress from Peter Pilotto's Spring collection. Meanwhile, Sophia Bush opted for a modern H&M white suit paired with nude Christian Louboutin pumps and a pink beaded clutch. H&M has chosen Vanessa Paradis to channel a little bit of that je ne sais quoi for its eco-friendly Spring '13 Conscious collection campaign. “I try my best to shop consciously, and vintage is very much part of my wardrobe," said Paradis. "I love the style, and it works in an eco-friendly way because I like to use and reuse old clothes.” The ad campaign features Paradis wearing an array of the Swedish retailer's eco-friendly wares, tropical-floral-print trousers, pretty sundresses, and utilitarian-inspired tops made out of materials such as organic cotton, recycled polyester, and Tencel. H&M wasn't joking when it said it was going to focus on sustainability in 2013. The Conscious collection will be available in late March, just around the same time its recently announced global recycling program is set to launch in stores as well.
