H&M has tapped Beyoncé to be the face of its Summer campaign. And with her Mrs. Carter world tour under way, today marks the simultaneous launch of the singer's H&M commercial, too. The video, along with the campaign images, show Beyoncé lounging on the beach in the Bahamas, looking (not surprisingly) amazing in a flurry of H&M swimwear and beachy cover-ups. But here's the best part: the commercial also features her new song, "Standing on the Sun," which feels (and sounds) just as Summer-perfect as the pieces she's wearing. Click on for a look at the commercial, plus the latest campaign images, inside the gallery.
With Coachella about a week away, we've been on the hunt for some fun festival-inspired looks for what's guaranteed to be a weekend filled with stylish eye candy, music, and lots of dancing. In comes Jessica Stroup to the rescue: the actress made an appearance at the H&M Conscious Collection event in San Francisco looking like a bohemian beauty in her high-low ivory lace H&M dress and cowboy boots. Between the vintage-inspired lace and perfectly rugged boots, we can easily picture ourselves prancing around the festival grounds in a similar look. In fact, all you need is a diaphanous little lace dress, cowboy boots, and if you really want to take your festival style up a notch, finish the look with a pretty braid. Even if Coachella isn't in the cards for you this year, this sweet dress and boots pairings is just as ideal for a weekend brunch date or a casual day in the city. The green carpet at last night's H&M and Global Green USA pre-Oscars party showed off another helping of amazing party looks thanks to the impeccably dressed celebrity crowd. Never one to shy away from daring looks, Miranda Kerr hit the (faux) grass with husband Orlando Bloom wearing a printed crisscross, cutout dress from Peter Pilotto's Spring collection. Meanwhile, Sophia Bush opted for a modern H&M white suit paired with nude Christian Louboutin pumps and a pink beaded clutch. Emmy Rossum channeled Old Hollywood glamour in an elegant draped gown, while Helen Hunt shimmered in a metallic lace dress. See every up-close detail in the slideshow now.
H&M has chosen Vanessa Paradis to channel a little bit of that je ne sais quoi for its eco-friendly Spring '13 Conscious collection campaign. “I try my best to shop consciously, and vintage is very much part of my wardrobe," said Paradis. "I love the style, and it works in an eco-friendly way because I like to use and reuse old clothes.” The ad campaign features Paradis wearing an array of the Swedish retailer's eco-friendly wares, tropical-floral-print trousers, pretty sundresses, and utilitarian-inspired tops made out of materials such as organic cotton, recycled polyester, and Tencel. H&M wasn't joking when it said it was going to focus on sustainability in 2013. The Conscious collection will be available in late March, just around the same time its recently announced global recycling program is set to launch in stores as well. Does she ever stop? Kristen Stewart has been on a stylish streak, and her latest appearance in San Francisco for the screening of On the Road at Skywalker Ranch showed off yet another covetable look to steal. For the occasion, Kristen wore a pair of slick faux-leather H&M pants, a slouchy white tee, and BCBG Max Azria blazer. While we might expect Kristen to finish off her ensemble with laid-back sneakers, the actress amped up her style cred in a pair of red hot Christian Louboutin pumps, a bold lip, and subversive gold wrap bracelet. And might we add — how perfect is this look for the holiday party season? We love her high-low styling here; if you do too, shop similar looks below.
Fast fashion and recycling don't usually go hand in hand, but H&M is making a (green) effort with the announcement of a global recycling program called ICollect. Beginning February, ICollect boxes will be placed in all H&M stores around the world for customers to donate bags of used clothing — in any condition — which will then be recycled and made into new textiles. As an added perk and incentive, the retailer is offering a 15-percent discount off any item of clothing when you donate. "Our sustainability efforts are rooted in a dedication to social and environmental responsibility," said CEO Karl-Johan Persson. "We want to do good for the environment, which is why we are now offering our customers a convenient solution: to be able to leave their worn out or defective garments with H&M." The brand has reportedly tested out the ICollect initiative in Switzerland for the past year, which garnered positive results. To top it all off, the brand is aiming to use only sustainable cotton in all of its collections by 2020. Are you impressed by H&M's eco-conscious efforts?
