Glitterati: Jessica Kagan Cushman

I'm so excited to share with you all the work of Jessica Kagan Cushman.

I'm so excited to share with you all the work of Jessica Kagan Cushman. I've been a fan of hers for a while. She practices scrimshaw (the art of intricately engraving on bone) on fossilized mammoth ivory and uses phrases from movies, literature, and in some cases, New York graffiti, to cover the entirety of the bracelet. Her bracelets say things like: "Are you a good witch or a bad witch?", "Does this bracelet make me look fat?" and my personal favorite: "All right, Mr. DeMille, I am ready for my close-up."

Her bracelets run on the expensive side - $795 for a medium-sized bangle - but they are hand etched on fossilized tusk, after all. Lucky for us, she does her own Look for Less and produces resin reproduction bangles available from Shopbop with the same phrases for a substantially lower price: $125.
