Derek Lam has been tapped as the second designer for Kohl's DesigNation, and now, the collection is available to shop online — and is 25 percent off until Tuesday, April 9.

For Lam, it was all about his affinity to Brazil's Rio de Janeiro. "I really love the city. The people are wonderful and the setting is amazing," said Lam. While we're fresh off the designer's Fall '13 runway show — a cerebral take on what the modern-day woman should wear — don't expect to experience déjà vu. According to Lam, this DesigNation collection is a "nice departure" from his usual design approach. He referenced artist Hélio Oiticica's surfwear-type print, and took inspiration from the city's sensual (read: lush jungle) side, evidenced by the jungle greens, yellows, and orange sorbet hues. Today, Derek Lam will unveil an affordably priced collaboration with Kohl's that was inspired by the art, architecture, and natural beauty of Rio de Janeiro.

Kohl's internationally inspired designer collaborations have taken its customers to Istanbul and Rio de Janeiro, but its latest partnership with Catherine Malandrino is all about Paris.

"Every woman in America has a French dream in her head, especially a Parisian one," the designer told WWD. "I feel every city has a soul. New York is all about transformation. Paris is all about timeless propositions."

The 80-piece collaboration, part of Kohl's relatively new DesigNation partnership program, is set to bring a few of those propositions to Kohl's 1,100 stores in late September and early October. Everything in the offering, which will range in price from $36 to $130, takes inspiration from things spotted in Paris. A black-and-white striped cardigan was inspired by the Columns of Buren, and the design of an iron gate at the Parc Monceau became a jacquard print.

Malandrino is the third designer to create a capsule collection for Kohl's, following Narciso Rodriguez and Derek Lam. A look at her first sketch from the collection here in the gallery.

In just a few short weeks, Narciso Rodriguez's Istanbul-inspired capsule hits Kohl's stores and online. The first of the retailer's Design Nation collaboration series (the second, by Derek Lam, will bow in April), the collection is made up of polished separates and precisely cut dresses — all in Rodriguez's signature geometric paneling and bold colorblock. Among the many standouts: a gorgeous kimono-wrap cocoon coat in cobalt blue for $130, long-sleeved dresses in curve-flattering two-toned patterns for $64, and a printed pair of tuxedo-striped pajama pants for $48.
