Jamie-Lynn Sigler Gives Us a Lesson in Layering Our Fall Sweaters

Last night at the Samsung Galaxy party in LA, Jamie-Lynn Sigler showed off a dressy-cum-casual look on the red carpet, and while her skinny jeans and black suede ankle boots were cool, what we're really focusing on is her top half.

Last night at the Samsung Galaxy party in LA, Jamie-Lynn Sigler showed off a dressy-cum-casual look on the red carpet, and while her skinny jeans and black suede ankle boots were cool, what we're really focusing on is her top half. We love that the actress paired two cozy tops with one another: a gray short-sleeved sweater over a white long-sleeved tee. It made for an even cozier feel. A chunky silver watch and bold red lips completed Jamie-Lynn's look. Next time you reach for your jeans, sweater, and booties, remember to also grab an extra long-sleeved top for the perfect layering look.

5 Quick Layering Tips to Keep You Warm Without Adding Bulk

We're thrilled to present our favorite Lucky story here on Fab!

We're thrilled to present our favorite Lucky story here on Fab!

The weather has turned downright chilly in the past few days and I'm looking mournfully at my transitional summer-to-fall wardrobe and thinking it's time to ramp it up. There's only one way to transition those fall pieces to winter pieces without freezing your tail off every time you go out—layering. It keeps you in your trench coat long after the temps have dipped below 50, and in your shorts long after your summer tan has faded.

There are five essential items to keep you warm and chic at the same time.

1. Boyfriend Cardigan: J.Crew does the perfect boyfriend cardigan. In wool or cashmere, it is skinny enough to stick under your coat or fur vest, but still gives you that extra layer of warmth.

2. Nubby Tights: I love black tights. They make that scandalously short skirt passable for the office, and they are functional! Throw on Hue's thick, soft tights, pair them with your summer platforms and a dress, and you're off.

3. Fur Vest: Whether faux or real, fur is a surefire way to stay warm. Stick your vest over a T-shirt, belt it for a slim silhouette and you're set. Fabulous Furs does a faux Mongolian lamb vest that had us all swearing it was straight off the Ann Demeulemeester runway.

This cute and comfy look from Fab reader coletteosuna totally has me thinking warm thoughts. She's completely layered in gray — starting with a sleek slate-colored turtleneck and girly striped dress, then adding thick tights, knee socks, and an oversized gray cardigan, belted at the waist. Black patent leather boots complete her super-chic, moody ensemble.

Congrats to coletteosuna!

Look of the Day: California Dreamin'

Living in California can make for some pretty baffling weather patterns –– one week you're at the beach, and the next you're in a rainstorm.

Living in California can make for some pretty baffling weather patterns –– one week you're at the beach, and the next you're in a rainstorm. Fab reader –– and fellow California girl –– crystaljill used this seasonal confusion to her advantage by finding a cute way to mix and match her Summer and Fall pieces. She belted a pair of slouchy denim shorts, layered up with a flowered blouse and cardigan, then added cream-colored over-the-knee socks and lace-up heels. She's staying chic while enjoying the sunshine.

Congrats to crystaljill!
