Loomstate Drums Up Anticipation For Earth Day

Midtown Manhattan isn't the first place one expects to encounter a drum circle, but last night 40 musicians gathered in Good Units at Hudson to make a racket in honor of Earth Day.

Midtown Manhattan isn't the first place one expects to encounter a drum circle, but last night 40 musicians gathered in Good Units at Hudson to make a racket in honor of Earth Day. The occasion was a Loomstate-sponsored bash that got a head start on commemorating the green holiday, which actually isn't until next week on the 22nd, but that hardly seemed to bother anyone. As an added bonus, Loomstate sponsored a party bus to take downtown kids afraid of crossing 14th St. unaccompanied all the way to the Hudson's 58th St. location.

There were more than a few eco-friendly fashion fans who ventured out to join the label's designers, Rogan Gregory and Scott Hahn, in enjoying the surprisingly awesome drumming and accompanying video installation. Rogan and Scott were in good company with other creatives like Pamela Love and the gang from threeASFOUR milling about and dancing to tunes from Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear, who took over as DJ once all the drumming stopped.

Behind the Seams: Loomstate For Target Launch Party

Oh, the perks of being a celebrity. While we have to wait until April 19 for the Loomstate For Target launch, they get to have first dibs days before. But just because we weren't at the launch party doesn't mean we can't spy on the fun. Amy Smart, Kate Mara, Elizabeth Banks, Amber Valetta, Jaime King, and dozens more enjoyed an afternoon together in Venice, CA, socializing and shopping. Trust me, no one left empty-handed, including actress Elizabeth Banks who picked up this adorable bird tote. See what else went down . . .

Stats show an increase in the amount of companies taking interest in learning how to conserve energy, finding ethical sourcing partners, and educating consumers about the benefits of sustainable methods. Trend Alert: Expressive Tees

In the words of Salt 'n' Pepa: "Express yourself, you gotta be you and only you, babe."

In the words of Salt 'n' Pepa: "Express yourself, you gotta be you and only you, babe." Expressive tees are an ideal way to speak a loud message. Whether you're suddenly into choppers, or yourself, rocker tees have made way for more artsy tees; fitting, since art school is in session this season. I'm more into the brightly colored ones, like Rihanna's, hey, if you're going to express yourself, do it loudly, babe.
