Gossip Girl is currently on hiatus, but we are here to feed your craving for the latest stunning looks from one of our favorite Upper East Siders played by Blake Lively. For her latest Serena ensemble, Blake showcased the versatility of her yellow python Pour La Victoire pumps ($250) by working them with two different looks. During the day she sported her bold pumps with an embellished tank and floral Haute Hippie miniskirt, then at night she paired them with a strapless black Lorick dress and chain-strap Oscar de la Renta bag. Get a closer look at this trendsetter's onscreen style, then shop her looks — including her exact pumps — for yourself.

Trend Alert: Tangerine, Tangerine

How does the Zeppelin song go?

How does the Zeppelin song go? "Measuring a summer's day, I only finds it slips away to gray, the hours, they bring me pain . . . " OK, actually kinda depressing. Miranda Kerr is anything but in her tangerine, tangerine. Like my most wanted tangerine Topshop beanie, Miranda's tangy blouse is uplifting. Times are still tough, let's help keep heads up by donning a happy color. Even in small doses, via a belt or bag, tangerine oozes tranquility. Tangerine, tangerine.

Designer Abigail Lorick was a model in Paris and head designer at T S Dixin before she launched her own line in the Spring of 2007. Her Fall 2009 look book was inspired by French New Wave film and was photographed by Tom Hines who also shot the Samantha Pleet and Safe Spring 09 look books. The look book captures the cinematic, retro, haunted quality of Lorick's clothing, which makes frequent appearances on the equally dark television show, Gossip Girl.

In The Showroom: Lorick Spring 2009

The Lorick Spring 2009 presentation was so brimming with eye candy, we thought it might not be quite as brilliant to see the collection dangling from a rolling rack--au contraire.

The Lorick Spring 2009 presentation was so brimming with eye candy, we thought it might not be quite as brilliant to see the collection dangling from a rolling rack--au contraire. The Spring 09 collection can be most accurately described as playing with every vintage silhouette and fabric you always wished you'd dig from the racks of your local thrift store to no avail. These garments merit lace gloves and red lipstick and should (and will), among other things, bring ladylike fashion back en vogue for the twenty-somethings. Just like the vintage costumes they reference these pieces are heavy and substantial in person. These are not garments meant to merely resemble the clothing of another era--they actually rival them. There were, of course, some entirely modern pieces in the collection, like easy silk tanks and cotton shorts, and they mixed nicely with the costumery as neither category went too far down its own path. Check out the Spring 2009 Lorick presentation right here, and, our showroom photos below.

Lorick Springs for Multiple Personalities

Fashion Week officially kicks off today, but a few early-bird shows have me excited for what's to come.

Fashion Week officially kicks off today, but a few early-bird shows have me excited for what's to come. First up: Lorick, the seen-on-Gossip-Girl collection by model-turned-designer Abigail Lorick. For such a young line, it's certainly going to turn some heads. The presentation's set designs and clothing were amazing; models lounged among fallen chandeliers and fuzzed-out television screens, flaccid cakes, and an "After the Storm" setup with wind-whipped flora. (Considering Hurricane Gustav, however, this one had unfortunate and awkward timing.)

The hair and makeup was just as diverse, natch. Each scene featured different hairstyles, ranging from prim French Twists to tornado-stirred nests of hair. (And those accessories? So flapper-chic.) The makeup was intense, with some models wearing shimmering smoky purples and moody silvery grays and others sporting lipstick the color of frostbite.
